Volunteer Spotlight:
JA Alum Randolph Mayweather
Retired US Navy Veteran gives back to JA and devotes his time mentoring students.

Junior Achievement of South Florida's volunteers have a passion for inspiring today's youth. Randy Mayweather is one of them. A Junior Achievement Alumnus, this Boyd Anderson High School graduate has been volunteering with JA for 18 years. He continues to give back to the community by sharing his knowledge and professionalism with youth in the classrooms.

In a recent survey, when asked what was the best thing about the program and volunteer, students commented:

"Mr. Mayweather teaching us about what we can do when we are out of high school." "I learned new things about trying to get a job." "I learn how to spend and save money and keep a job."

In addition to volunteering for Junior Achievement, Randy is a retired US Navy Information Systems Technician (SW) and a Master Swimmer. THANK YOU Randy for your dedication to JA!

Looking for ways to make a difference in the community? JA volunteers spend time teaching our curriculum in the classrooms, as well as at JA World Huizenga Center at the Lillian S. Wells Pavilion.

For more information, email Alexa Diaz, Crissy Torres or call (954) 979-7114.

Thank You Jarden Consumer Solutions for Supporting JA BizTown Camp!

Junior Achievement of South Florida appreciates all of our supporters, including the  Jarden Consumer Solutions Community Fund for supporting our annual JA BizTown Camp.  Thanks to a $2,500 contribution, eight local students, ages 8-13, were able to attend a week of camp. While having a fun camp experience, nearly 300 campers learned how to manage a personal bank account, participated in job interviews and spent a week running their own business. Campers also enjoyed fun activities, themed days, fitness activities, toy making contests, etc. and participated in field trips on Broward College North Campus.

The Jarden Consumer Solutions (JCS) Community Fund is the Company's employee-funded charitable organization. It provides monetary grants to qualified charitable organizations in the communities where JCS employees live, work and care for their families.
