Dear Parents,

I hope to see you all at tomorrow's Back to School Night. This is your best opportunity to hear first hand what your child's teachers have planned for the school year and how you can help at home to maximize your child's educational opportunities at St. Rose.  In addition, I will be presenting on some new initiatives we are working on this year. The evening begins at 6:30 PM in the gym.
 
Today our students were able to eat in our new lunch structure for the first time. We used to refer to our old structure as The Covered Eating Area. Not that we have this lovely new space with attractive pavers and solar power, we need to come up with a new, classier name. I have given the 8 th Grade Class the task of determining what it will be. I will let you know what they decide.

SONOMA COUNTY EMERGENCY ALERT TESTING  
NEXT WEEK
The County of Sonoma wil be testing its emergency alert systems on Monday, Sept. 10th and Wednesday, Sept. 12th. The county has asked all schools to notify parents of the testing so that everyone is aware that the Wireless Emergency Alert System will be activated during the testing.
UNIFORM ORDERS for OCTOBER DELIVERY are DUE by Sept. 15th
Do you know that as a St. Rose Parent, you are already a member of the St. Rose Parent Association?  The PA provides funding to St. Rose to help keep tuition costs down, support for room parents and teachers, and plans special events. The PA meets normally on the first Tuesday of every month, at 7PM, at school.  
All parents are invited to attend. Next meeting is Tue. Oct. 2nd. 7PM.

LATE PICK UP POLICY - NEW
If you have reviewed the updated Parent/ Student Handbook, you will have noticed the updated policy on LATE PICK-UPS. (pg. 26)
Supervision is provided afterschool until 3:25pm (1pm on minimum days)
Parents who pick up late, after these times, will be billed $30 per 15 minutes late, at the start of each 15 minute interval, on their Smart Tuition accounts. The school office closes at 3:30 pm on regular school days, 1pm on minimum days. All parents are encouraged to register for YMCA After-school care for those days where you can't get here on time. We can not leave children unattended out front.
