HCD Pro-Housing Framework Released
The California Department of Housing and Community Development is seeking input into its draft pro-housing designation program intended to highlight and reward cities that produce new housing. Click HERE to read the framework paper and the survey.  Full Story
Affordable Housing Fee To Rise in Livermore
Per its established fee setting formula, Livermore will increase its affordable housing in-lieu rate by $3.15 to $28.52 per sq. ft., or 12 percent. The City Council is scheduled to ratify the annual fee resolution on Oct. 28, 2019, which will go into effect 60 days after the vote. Full Story
Hollister Growth Management Ordinance
On Monday, 10/21/19, the City of Hollister will hear Agenda Item E.1, Ordinance No. 1183 to repeal and replace the city's Municipal Code Chapter 16.64 regarding the city's Growth Management Program.  Despite efforts to advise the city staff and council of SB 330 and the state's new legislation prohibiting any housing allocation caps, housing moratoria, population caps or similar restrictions effective January 1, 2020 the city staff is recommending the council proceed with adopting the proposed Growth Management Ordinance. San Jose to Increase Rental Housing In-Lieu Fees
On October 18 the City of San Jose held an information meeting to provide a preliminary overview of proposed recommended updates to the city's Inclusionary Ordinance.  On November 5th  the city council is scheduled to have a "Housing Study Session" where city staff and consultants will make presentations covering (1) Inclusionary Housing Ordinance Recommended Changes for Rental Housing (2) Cost of Residential Development Construction (3) Development Fee Framework Approach (4) Ellis Act Ordinance Changes. Morgan Hill to Update Fees
The City of Morgan Hill will be reviewing the July 2019 Willdan Study of Development Impact Fees and staff recommendation to adopt a new fee schedule at their October 23, 2019 council meeting.  Full Story

BIA Seeks Membership Committee Nominations
The BIA|Bay Area is accepting  nominations for several at-large openings on its Membership Committee. Nominees must be BIA members in good standing and be willing to participate in at least one meeting a month during most of the year and more often during the association's annual membership drive.
