VOLUME 7 - December 2019
The Heart of Giving:
A Mother Pays It Forward for Her Son
All gifts to help others are special.
But one we received recently - from "Betty T" - was extra-special.

Betty T's son, Scott, was in a horrific car accident, and had multiple injuries to his spine, brain and other areas.   Due to this, he lost his ability to work full-time, and his health insurance.
Care Ring's Physicians Reach Out program has been providing critically-needed care for Betty's son, and she is so grateful that she wanted to give back what she could. She said:

"Your help with my son has been the best thing he could ask for. I don't have much to give because I'm retired and on a limited income, but I wanted to give something back for what Scott has received and to help someone else who needs it."

Thank you Betty, and to all our donors who give from the heart!
VIDEO STORY OF HOPE: Audrey

Audrey has always been a caretaker of others: children, her mother, her husband, and her community. When Audrey found herself without health insurance and with serious health concerns, Care Ring was able to step in and take care of her so she could continue to serve others.

This care is ONLY possible because of your support.

CHARLOTTE FAITH COMMUNITY
ON A MISSION TO RESTORE HEALTH, HELP MOMS

Our friends at Myers Park United Methodist Church have given so generously this year, bestowing a grant award so we can begin to provide on-site health education and screenings to the Brookhill Village neighborhood, and also gave funding to replace the worn-out chairs in our Clinic waiting area, affording a dignified experience for all our patients.
Thank you also to these churches who have kindly provided support
to our 3 programs this year:

Amity Presbyterian Church
Calvary United Methodist Church
Christ Church Charlotte
Paw Creek Presbyterian Church
Presbytery of Charlotte
Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church
South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church
St. John's Baptist Church
St. Matthew Catholic Church
St. Peter Catholic Church

Collectively, the Charlotte faith community has given over $30,000 to improve the health and vitality of our neighbors in need!
YOUR IMPACT ON OUR 3 PROGRAMS
Primary care for people with modest resources

Care Ring's Clinic set a new record in October, seeing 430 patients! Whether it was a physical so a person could start a new job, a reproductive health exam for a woman to check for early warning signs of cancers, or nutrition counseling for someone struggling with diabetes, we were able to serve more people and their families because we had the necessary resources provided by you, the generous Charlotte-Mecklenburg community.

Comprehensive healthcare for those most in need

PRO has changed its enrollment process to better serve our neighbors in need. Applicants who have been newly accepted into the program now receive a one-on-one orientation with our staff, rather than in a group setting. This individualized approach has resulted in clients asking more questions, and a better understanding for them about how PRO works. The goal of this strategy is better compliance with treatment and accessing care within the program, and to create greater satisfaction for both the clients and the generous providers in our PRO network.

Your support enables us to provide enough staff to employ this effective technique!

Helping first-time parents succeed

At NFP's recent Winter Graduation & Holiday Celebration, 12 women and their families were celebrated for having successfully completed the program. We were able to give out 160 toys and books to the children, thanks to generous donors from the community such as Smile Charlotte , Moore & Van Allen , TowneBank , and many others. Special thanks to Lupie's Cafe for providing delicious food at a discounted price.
