An Exciting New Video Project from SLA

As we continue to address programming possibilities in a pandemic age, SLA has commissioned eight writers and artists to create short workshops, readings and presentations on a variety of topics. Some will be hands on, while others will introduce new and engaging topics for further exploration. Each of the videos will be 45 minutes in length.

Confirmed presenters include:
  • Clint Hunker (watercolour painting)
  • Curtis Peeteetuce (Introduction to Body Language and Body and Voice)
  • Erickka Patmore (experimental painting to express and reflect upon one's emotions)
  • Gail Bowen (reading from her soon to be published book)
  • Kelley Jo Burke (pre-writing, beginning your writing)
  • Leona Theis (reading from her new novel-in-stories)
  • Miriam Körner(storytelling and reading from her work)
We will also have one additional writer to be confirmed soon.

Libraries will be able to share the videos with their patrons in their physical space if they are open, or through their website and social media pages.

SLA Committees: Invitation to New Members

Committee work is significant in accomplishing the objectives of SLA. It is an excellent way to engage in matters that are important to the library community, and provides members with an avenue to make new contacts and have a new experience.

Committee work is now in transition and we are looking for new committee members. If you are interested in serving on any of the SLA committees please contact Dorothea Warren at slaexdir@sasktel.net indicating your interest. Information on the committees and descriptions of committee roles can be found here.

Thank you in advance for considering committee participation. We plan on having committees meet and begin their work in early fall. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
