2020 SPRING/SUMMER PROGRAM BOOK
IS COMING SOON
Our 2020 Spring/Summer Program Book will be delivered to the post office later this week!   All Little Chute residents/taxpayers will receive a program book in their mailbox by March 11.  If you do not reside in Little Chute, starting in mid March you may view the program book on our village website or you can pick up a copy of the book in our office (Village Hall, 108 W. Main St - 2nd floor).

Make sure you check out the book and see the numerous program offerings we have for kids and adults! Information on Chute-ing Stars Competitive Dance Team, Pom and Dance Clinic, Youth Dance Classes, Tumbling Tykes, Explore Nature, Tiny Tots Playtime, Basketball, tons of One-Day Youth Events, Family Fun Fest, Youth Carnival, Pee Wee Sports, Sports Galore, Fun With Food, Martial Arts, Home Alone/Sitter Course, Youth CPR/AED & First Aid Course, Tennis Lessons, Jets Tackle Football, Computer Coding Classes, KidStage Theater, Indoor Archery, Painting Classes, Touch-A-Truck Event, Movie in the Park Night, Sunday Night Fun Runs, Pages in the Park, Tai Chi Classes, Fast To Heal Class, Men's Softball, Adult Yoga Classes, Adult Ultimate Frisbee, Senior Activities, Senior Bus Trip, Adult/Senior Swim, Dive-In Movie, and Swimming Lessons are located in the book.

Registration for recreation programs begins Monday, March 16! Registration for swim lessons begins June 2.
INDOOR ARCHERY CLASSES
Check out the spring/summer program book when it arrives later this week for our  Indoor Archery Classes that will be held starting in the middle of April.   If you are a beginner or an expert, you will find that our archery classes have a lot to offer.  Archery classes will be held at indoor facility located at Van Lieshout Park on Thursday evenings. Class options include Beginner Archery  (youth ages 8 to 16) , Intermediate Archery  (youth ages 10 to 16), and Family Archery  (person age 8 to 16 along with a person 18 or over).   Class sizes are very limited so mark your calendar to register right away. Registration begins Monday, March 16.
CHUTE-ING STARS COMPETITIVE DANCE TEAM
TRYOUT PACKETS
Does your child love to dance and perform? Then the Chute-ing Stars Dance Team may be what they are looking for! This is a competitive dance team for students entering 5th through 8th grade in the fall.  Interested dancers can pick up a Dance Team Tryout Packet at the LC Park & Rec from 3/16 through 4/9.  Completed paperwork must be brought to the mandatory parent and dance meeting Monday, April 13. Following the meeting, there will be a workshop for the dancers to start learning parts of a routine. Dancers will meet again on April 14 & 16 to learn and practice the routine. Team tryouts will be held Friday, April 17 (dancers assigned tryout time). This is a competitive dance team; dancers will be cut at tryouts. Preference will be given to dancers who attend a Little Chute school. Team season is mid May 2020 through January 2021. Tentative schedule will be in the tryout packet.
ADULT YOGA CLASSES
(ages 18 to 99)
Are you looking for a low impact way to work your body like never before? Power Yoga focuses on strength, balance, flexibility and core work. This intense style of yoga is designed to make you move and sweat. It is a totally different way to work the body and uses muscles you didn't even know you had. This class, taught by a certified yoga instructor, is designed for all levels so no prior experience necessary.

Our next session of Yoga (March/April classes) will start on March 11 and end on April 29.  Classes are held on Wednesdays from 5:30pm to 6:30pm in the Van Lieshout Rec Center  (temperature controlled room in building by ball diamond). Register early, class size is limited (30max/12min). You can register online or you can stop in our office to register. The f ee for 8 evening yoga classes is $40 per Little Chute resident/taxpayer and $50 per nonresident.  Registration deadline is March 5.    After deadline, registrations only accepted at Rec Dept if space available.
SUMMER APPLICATION DEADLINE MARCH 6
Students only have a couple days left to turn in their completed application for a summer part-time job opening! Final deadline for job applications is Friday, March 6. So if your student is interested in a job as a Recreation Instructor, Pool Cashier, Lifeguard, or Parks/Forestry/Street Laborer, click the included link for the application form or have them stop into Park & Rec Dept (2nd floor of Village Hall).   
TERRACE TREE APPLICATION DEADLINE MARCH 31
The Village of Little Chute has budgeted money to plant trees on the terrace for any taxpayer that would like to purchase them. Your cost per terrace tree will be $60, with the balance being paid with budgeted money. All applications are handled on a first-come, first-serve basis, as long as the budget money lasts. Village staff will plant the trees, which are balled & burlaped with a minimum of a 1.5" trunk diameter, starting in Spring as specified by the Village Forestry Manual. Property owners may specify a particular species of tree, but the final determination will be made by the Forestry Department to avoid dangerous and costly maintenance of trees, and to assure the "right tree" is planted for the future. Property owners must have curb and gutter before they can have terrace trees. Available terrace tree options and pictures are provided. Terrace tree application application is Tuesday, March 31. 
PRIVATE POOL RENTALS & POOL BIRTHDAY PARTIES
(reservation forms accepted starting March 2)
Looking for a place to hold your child's birthday party? Or are you looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion, company picnic, or club gathering? Then we have the place! Doyle Pool Party/Rental Forms accepted starting Monday, March 2, so don't miss out on getting your date booked.

Doyle Park Pool can be booked for Pool Birthday Parties which are held during normal pool operational hours. Party kids will be provided pool admission ticket, two slices of pizza, a bag of popcorn, a bottle of water. Party group gets use of west half of the pool pavilion for 1.5 hours, and entire open swim time that day. Party options for 10 or less kids, or for 20 or more kids. One adult chaperone per 10 kids provided pool admission (other adults must pay to enter pool). Party group only allowed to bring birthday cake into pool pavilion, no other food or drink allowed.

Doyle Park Pool can also be booked for Private Rental Use when the pool is not scheduled to be open for public swim or swim lessons. Your group will have the entire pool to yourself to enjoy! Private Rental rate based on groups of less than 30, or groups of 30 or more. Private Rentals can be for 1 hour, 1-1/2 hour, or 2 hour time slots. Private Rental groups are allowed to bring in their own food, cake and drinks (NO alcohol), which must stay under pool pavilion.
UPCOMING REGISTRATION REMINDER
Registration for recreation programs  (excluding swim lessons)  in the 2020 Spring & Summer Program Book  will begin on Monday, March 16 for everyone !

Once registration opens, anyone can register for programs.   There is no longer a time period where just Little Chute residents/taxpayers can register for programs prior to non-residents. Non-residents pay a higher fee to register for programs, because our rec programs are supported by village resident taxpayer dollars.

Families can register for rec programs  (excluding swim lessons)  whichever way is most convenient to them.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
(recreation programs, swim lessons, pool passes)
Every Kid Counts is a fund that is available to children of LC residents/taxpayers who, for family financial reasons, would be unable to participate in recreation and/or aquatic programs. The 2020 fund was established thanks to the generous donations from the Great Wisconsin Cheese Festival, Little Chute Jaycees, Kiwanis Club of Little Chute, and Little Chute Knights of Columbus.  Please click the included link for the 2020 Every Kids Counts Financial Assistance Application.   Completed application must be returned with required proof of eligibility.  Upon approval, children (age 17 & under) in the family would receive 50% of their recreation/aquatic program fees paid for from available funds up to a maximum of $50 per child and $150 per household. Upon approval, applicant can registration children for programs.
PARK SHELTER & REC CENTER RENTALS
Looking to book an event at one of our park shelters or at our rec center in 2020? Our department policy allows the public to reserve facilities on the first business day of the new year, which was January 2. All reservations are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis.  To book your event in 2020, you can either stop in at the Park & Rec Dept (2nd floor Village Hall) or you can call us weekdays during business hours at 423-3869.  Please note that the rental fee and security deposit is due in full at the time the reservation is made, so if you book a date by phone you will be required to pay with a credit card.

Reservations for the Van Lieshout Rec Center can be made from February 2020 through February 2021 . The Rec Center is a large temperature-controlled room that can accommodate a group of 99 or less; it contains a refrigerator, stove, microwave, sink, restrooms, 14 tables, and 75 chairs. It is a great place for an indoor birthday party, wedding/baby shower, family gathering, or company meeting!  (minimum 14 day notice required for all bookings at Van Lieshout Rec Center).
