Community Partners with RIT on New Technologies for Seniors
Rochester Institute of Technology’s Saunders College of Business has announced an extension of its unique partnership with Jewish Senior Life. Over the next five years, the JSL Innovation Collaborative will support the development of research materials to explore how new technologies may impact and improve the lives of seniors, including supporting research stipends and resources for students.

Residents Relocated to Safety During Recent Texas Storms
The Legacy Senior Communities jumped into action during the recent winter storms in Texas when they successfully relocated 60 residents of The Legacy Willow Bend to sister community, The Legacy Midtown Park, in response to inclement weather. The Legacy Midtown Park also made accommodations for over 30 employees who were staying overnight to continue caring for residents and to avoid icy conditions.

Joint Ambitious Senior Living Community Project Announced
Beth Sholom Village has announced a joint project with Pembroke Realty Group to build a vibrant new Senior Living Community in Virginia Beach, Va.
The seven-story senior living community will have 124 independent living apartments, 20 assisted living apartments and 12 memory support units for a complete continuum of care.
It also will feature various spaces for entertaining and amenities will include a rooftop terrace, indoor pool, fitness room and Wi-Fi throughout.


Pen Pals Create Unique Relationships Across Generations
Residents at Menorah Park have been corresponding with pen pals to help ease isolation and loneliness during the pandemic. Here's a video about a special relationship developed by one of the residents.

New CEO Begins Tenure
In St. Petersburg
The Menorah Manor and Menorah Manor Foundation Boards welcomed Robert J. Becht, MBA, JD, as its new chief executive officer. Becht’s tenure began in February. 

He succeeds Rob Goldstein who retired after 24 years with Menorah Manor, including serving as CEO for the past six years.

JAA Staff Stay Connected to Residents in Wake of Nursing Home Closure
In the wake of the closure of the Charles Morris Nursing Home earlier this year, the Jewish Association on Aging is reaching out to the community to keep seniors connected.
