Easter Sunday

“Think of what is above, not of what is on earth.” - COLOSSIANS 3:2

We are proud to introduce ourselves as the Holy Land Carvings group from the Holy Land. We have come to the United States representing the Christian wood carvers of Bethlehem that rely on the tourism to support their families.

Due to the bad situation and the interruption of the tourist trade, thousands of families in the Holy Land are in danger of having to leave their homes in search of work. Our mission is to bring and sell the Olive Wood Carvings to the catholic Churches in the United States to help the Christian families remain in their homes and support their families. These Christians who make their livelihood through the selling of their hand carved Olive Wood religious items are depending on us to bring these beautiful carving, such as Nativity Scenes, Crucifixes, Rosaries, Statues, Picture of the Last Supper, and several other religious items to you.
Please look over these carvings that are available to you at the weekend of April 10th & 11th help support this self-help project that enables to keep the Christians present in the Holy Land. Your help and understanding in this crucial matter are greatly appreciated.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us by phone or e-mail listed below.

The “Giving Back to the Community” Golf Tournament held by Christ Our King and Savior Church is set for April 12, 2021 at Harbor Club on Lake Oconee. The 18-hole tournament is a scramble format. Players will be competing for the COKAS Cup Challenge, sponsored by BankSouth. Plans are underway for an exciting and fun day of golf at Harbor Club with the opportunity to win valuable prizes.

Last year’s golf tournament raised just over $30,500 for Community Outreach Programs for Greene, Putnam, and Hancock Counties. Approximately $14K was earned by selling the raffle tickets distributed to each family. Raffle tickets were mailed to all parish families in late February. Please return them in time for the tournament either by placing in the collection basket, dropping off in the office or mailing them back to the office before April 10th.

The golfer field is currently sold out! If anyone would like to get on a waiting list, please contact Kris Rulison at 706-999-9875 or kjrulison@gmail.com This year we will be using the WHS Handicap Index. The fee is $200 per player or $700 per team (if paid in full at the time of registration.) For details and go to cokas.org under Parish Info and News. You may download a brochure and mail the registration form found in the brochure to the Church office or register your team or individually and pay on-line. Call Mark Holihan if you have any questions - (770) 403-5702.

We also need a few more volunteer staff to handle setup and registration on tournament day at Harbor Club, monitors to oversee the Par-3 Poker, Hole-in-One and Putting Contests, the 50/50 Challenge and supply water and ice during the day. Lunch will be provided. If you would like to help, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator, Dave Dornheggen at 513-675-5230 or send him an email at david.dornheggen@gmail.com

And last but not least, additional sponsors are also needed. For as little as $250, a sign with the family/business name will be placed on the various holes, just like in the Masters tournament. Please consider being a valued sponsor as well.
A monthly Nourish for Caregivers group has been formed at COKAS.
 Please join us!

The Nourish program provides caregivers a faith perspective, as well as practical and emotional supports, useful tools, and shared experience. Discover the blessings that come from caring for another.

Our first meeting will take place:

Time: 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.

National Day of Prayer is coming
to Greene & Putnam Counties

The National Day of Prayer (NDP) is coming to Greene & Putnam Counties with a joint praying event on Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 12:00 -1:00pm at the Briarpatch Farm located at 725 Pea Ridge Road, Eatonton, GA 31024. This is the 75th Anniversary for the event and it exists to communicate with every individual the need for personal repentance and prayer and to mobilize the Christian community to intercede for America’s leaders and its families.

The NDP stands as a call for us to humbly come before God, seeking His guidance for our leaders and His grace upon us as a people. The unanimous passage of the bill establishing the National Day of Prayer as an annual event signifies that prayer is as important to our nation today as it was in the beginning. Father Michael will be leading one of the prayer topics.

Briarpatch Farm is approximately a 10 minute drive from Publix in Greene or city center Eatonton. For more information contact Fran D’Antonio at (404) 391-4120 or fran547@aol.com.
