Coalition News: The Website, Regional Coalition Meetings
|
|
Within the next couple weeks, you will notice slight changes to the website. We are including additional cessation program provider details, such as website links, phone numbers, emails and full addresses. These latest details, under each region's tab, are to ensure that our neighbors can locate their closest provider faster and easier.
A campaign is in the works to create further buzz and connections to the community in which we serve. We are seeking additional ways to invite our diverse communities to join our amazing coalition. In the upcoming weeks ahead, you will find new promotional materials regarding the coalition. To view some of these changes, visit our website often at RPTFC.org.

Public Health Roadmap: Promoting Tobacco Use Dependency Treatment in Behavioral Health Settings
Event: Thursday, June 10, 2021, 1 PM – 2 PM, EST
Despite the overall declines in tobacco product use, some populations still smoke at higher rates. This includes people with behavioral health issues such as mental illness and substance use disorders. People with behavioral health issues are interested in quitting, can quit, and benefit from quitting. While there is a strong evidence base for safety, efficacy and outcomes, behavioral health settings have been slow to prioritize the implementation of comprehensive tobacco use dependency treatment. This is why it is more important than ever for public health professionals to be equipped tools to address these challenging barriers to making tobacco dependence treatment part of behavioral health treatment.
Join the American Lung Association for an interactive webcast. Attendees can expect to:
- Increase confidence to engage and partner with systems and care teams in behavioral health settings that are interested in improving how they promote and integrate evidence-based tobacco use dependency treatment services.
- Learn more about the best practices learned during the 2021 Health Systems Change Cohort group, hosted by the American Lung Association.
- Learn about new tools for public health professionals, to coach community partners in behavioral health systems change.
