Looking Back

In looking through pictures for the newsletter, I happened to reflect on all the great things ACORN has done over the years. Most valuable are connections  made among farm, food and energy businesses and organizations. I sometimes liken us to the "Little Engine That Could" because we keep going. An organization run on volunteers with a part time director, and a teeny-tiny budget, we have accomplished so much.

A big THANK YOU to all the financial supporters of all our projects and all the participants in our Tour de Farms, attending our forums, expos, soirees, gatherings and workshops. We value your support at every turn. -ahh

Innovation Award Honoring Eric Rozendaal

In 2001, the Vermont Land trust had the pleasure of helping Eric purchase the permanently protected Rockville Market Farm in Starksboro, VT. Over the years, Eric provided valuable advice as the organization expanded its efforts to help new and beginning farmers.

Eric's family has created a fund at the Vermont Land Trust to annually honor a Vermont farmer who exemplifies Eric's model as a skilled, creative, entrepreneurial farmer. In creating the annual Eric Rozendaal Farm Innovation Award, family and friends will recognize a Vermont farmer with an honorarium. Eric died suddenly in July, while on vacation with people he loved and nurtured, his family.

Please donate to this fund by making a secure online gift now (scroll down to choose 'Eric Rozendaal Fund' in the designation question). Or, you can mail a check, with "Eric Rozendaal" written in the memo line, to:
