The 2018 AEDCE Annual Conference was held August 26 - 28 in Fayetteville. We had over 200 participants in this year's conference and heard from amazing speakers and panelists on a wide variety of topics effecting economic development and chamber professionals. This month’s feature, “Cabot, On the Move” profiles Cabot, a bedroom community of Little Rock with advantages of its own! With recent infrastructure and quality of life upgrades, Cabot is projected to increase its population by 3% in the next few years. It’s definitely a community on the move!

State Chamber Tax Seminars

The State Chamber and partners will host three tax seminars this fall across the state. This half-day program will highlight federal tax reform, state tax reform tax force discussions, newly developed opportunity zones, sales tax nexus, business taxes and incentives, what sovereign immunity means for taxpayers, and more.

Business Cybersecurity &
Fraud Seminar

While cybersecurity is a concern among all businesses, the majority of all targeted cyberattacks in the past year were directed at small and mid-sized businesses.

Manufacturing Solutions, a department of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission’s Existing Business Resource Division, will host a cybersecurity and fraud seminar focused on businesses. The event will be held Wednesday, September 12th  at the Rogers-Lowell Chamber of Commerce.

Arkansas State Chamber/AIA Annual Meeting

Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson will be the featured speaker at the State Chamber/AIA 90th Annual Meeting, which will be held Wednesday, November 14 at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock.

Age of Agility Summit

This event will present insights and perspectives from business, education, and policy leaders on what the future of work means for restructuring the way we deliver education - helping us crowdsource strategies and solutions to take action within our state and across the country.
The event will be held Thursday, September 27th in Little Rock.

AEDF will hold a luncheon on Wednesday, January 30th in Little Rock at the Statehouse Convention Center. The featured speaker will be John Furner, CEO of Sam's Club. More details to be released soon!
