IMPORTANT UPDATES

We had an INCREDIBLE first week of school! It is so exciting for us to finally have students in the building, the energy is contagious. Thank you so much to all of our parents, students, and staff for their continued patience as we continue to work through those challenges!

Please read the following updates carefully:

Beginning Wednesday September 5th:
ALL students must wear their Student ID on a lanyard around their neck. This is an important part of school security. Please help us by checking to make sure they have it when they leave for school each day.

In addition, all students must be in clothing that follows the  School Dress Code. We have had a large number of dress code infractions due to shredding, tears, and rips in denim. Please note that our school dress code requires that student pants be free of shredding, rips, and tears. We are committed to maintaining a uniform-free policy, but we need everyone's help to ensure students are dressed appropriately for school.

Students will be marked tardy if they arrive to campus after 7:40am (excluding late bus arrivals). Please make sure students arrive by 7:30am in order to be present at 7:40am for their first class period.

Please make sure you have the following important dates on your calendar:
Wednesday, September 5th @ 8am: PTO Meeting
Wednesday, September 12th at 6pm: Open House (see more information below)
OPEN HOUSE

Come meet your student's teachers and learn more about their cohort schedule, math class, and the elective courses they are completing this year. Open House is a very important night for our families to hear directly from teachers about their plans and expectations for their classes this year. Students will bring home an Open House Schedule for their parents prior to Wednesday of next week. Please make sure to bring your schedule with you and be prepared for your first class period to begin promptly at 6pm! If you don't receive an Open House schedule or forget to bring it with you, please arrive to campus by 5:45pm so we can give you a schedule for the evening. We look forward to seeing you next Wednesday night!
ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL PROCEDURES

UPDATE: Our arrival and dismissal procedures are getting better and we have received extra support from our HISD officers to help manage traffic during dismissal. Please continue to follow the procedures listed below for the student drop off.

For AM drop off, as long as there is a line of cars behind you, please make sure that you move all of the way through the circle drive before you stop and let your child out. We want to get students out of cars and to class as fast as possible. Please do not cut through the parking area to drop off or cut in front of other cars when exiting the drive.

For PM pick up, when you arrive, please pull all of the way up in the loop until you reach Southmore so we can fit as many cars into the loop as possible. Do not leave large gaps between cars. If you can contact your child, please let them know where you are in the line and they can walk to your car, but please do not have your child walk across Southmore in traffic. There are no crossing guards and we want to keep everyone safe. Once your child is in your car, please use the left lane to exit the driveway. The right lane is for picking up students and the left lane is for exiting once you have your child. Also like in the morning, please do not use the parking lot to pick up students or to cut in front of other cars.

Finally, please be mindful of the staff directing traffic. If everyone cooperates and follows the same procedures we can get everyone moving much faster.
TRANSPORTATION

The most recent update families received regarding transportation appears to have been incorrect for a number of families concerning specific routes and times. Please use the 24 hour transportation hotline in order to confirm route changes. You can reach the transportation line by dialing 713.556.9400.

Thank you for your continued patience as the transportation department works with schools and parents to make sure HUB options and bus routes are adjusted to meet the needs of our students.
