GENERAL
LOS ANGELES MISSION DRIVE
Peninsula is holding a drive to help the Los Angeles Mission. They need donations of non-perishable food such as canned meats, coffee, drinks and more as well as personal care items (deodorant, hand sanitizer, etc), and clothing such as socks and pajamas. Email Mrs. Sunada at [email protected] for the complete list of requested items. Boxes will be outside the gym from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm on school days.

WALK FOR LIFE
Panthers! Now is your opportunity to sign up and join in the annual Walk for Life to raise money for ALS research. Peninsula has a personal connection to fighting this disease as alum Eric Stevens is waging his own battle against ALS. Walk for Life is Friday, Mar. 19 and walkers are excused from 5th and 6th periods on that day. Cost is $25 and participants receive the official Walk for Life 2021 tee shirt. Sign up here.

PTSA BOOK CLUB
The second virtual meeting of the PTSA book club is next Saturday, Mar. 13 at 11:00 am when Bryan Stevenson's Just Mercy will be discussed. A guest speaker from the Equal Justice Initiative will talk first. Contact Peninsula's librarian at [email protected] if you need a copy. Click here to register or email Beth Meyerhoff at [email protected] with any questions.

LINK CREW
Be a mentor to incoming freshmen next year and join Link Crew. Current sophomores and juniors may apply on the Pen website under Panther Picks or click here. Applications are due Friday, Mar. 26 at 6:00 pm.

COLLEGE CAREER CENTER
SCHOLARSHIPS FOR SENIORS
Now is the time to apply for local scholarships. Many generous scholarships are available from PTA, PEF, PV Rotary, PV Juniors, PV Lions, Kiwanis, South Bay Panhellenic Alumnae and more and are posted on Naviance. Don't delay; deadlines to apply are in the next few weeks. Many scholarships lapse because no one applies by the deadline. This is peak scholarship season, so don't let the opportunity pass.
