ACCP Announces the
Hartmut Derendorf Mentorship
in Clinical Pharmacology Award
Dr. Hartmut Derendorf, pioneering and distinguished scientist and long-time Fellow in the American College of Clinical Pharmacology® (ACCP), served ACCP in many roles, including as Regent, Secretary, President and Honorary Regent. He was the recipient of the ACCP Distinguished Investigator Award, the Nathaniel T. Kwit Memorial Distinguished Service Award and the Bristol-Myers Squibb Mentorship in Clinical Pharmacology Award. While all of this is truly exceptional, his lasting legacy will be the number of young, aspiring clinical pharmacologists that he mentored and who have gone on to achieve their own tremendous successes and contributions to the global clinical pharmacology community. In addition to his role as mentor, these colleagues saw Dr. Derendorf as a respected figure and lifelong friend. ACCP greatly benefited from Dr. Derendorf introducing the society to his young colleagues as a forum for learning, networking and giving back to the scientific community. His mentorship translated into numerous active members and current and future leaders in clinical pharmacology.

It is our great honor and pleasure to announce that the Board of Regents of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology® has approved the renaming of its Mentorship Award to the “Hartmut Derendorf Mentorship in Clinical Pharmacology Award”. Honoring our beloved colleague in this way will permit ACCP to continue his legacy. The award will be renamed effective immediately and will be presented for the first time at the at the 2021 ACCP Annual Meeting as the Hartmut Derendorf Mentorship in Clinical Pharmacology Award.
