Monday, May 3 - Friday, May 7
Fatalities caused by falls from elevation continue to be a leading cause of death for construction employees, accounting for 320 of the 1,008 construction fatalities recorded in 2018 (BLS data). Those deaths were preventable. The National Safety Stand-Down raises fall hazard awareness across the country to stop fall fatalities and injuries.
  • With proper planning, communication and training, preventing falls and eliminating hazards can be accomplished.

  • This voluntary event invites employers to talk directly with employees about safety.

  • Show your workforce you are serious about Fall Protection.

  • Foster a safety culture and inspect equipment.
Marr Center for Safety Training is pleased to provide you with information and links to assist you and your workforce in accessing the best information for education and training purposes.
KNOW YOUR EQUIPMENT
Inspection of PFAS is not only encouraged but required before each use. Too often this requirement is simply overlooked. Conducting a Stand-Down has proven to be an effective means to communicate these vital safety requirements to the workforce.
