OCTOBER LUNCHEON
FYI-it's the 4th Thursday this month, not the third Thursday!
This month's luncheon features a panel discussion about Southwest Florida's current workforce with some of the organizations working to build and strengthen it through their various programs and educational offerings. Participants include Peg Elmore, Director of Business Services for CareerSource Southwest Florida ; John Meyer, President of Hodges University ; and Todd Everly from SWFL Public Service Academy and Lee Technical Colleges. . The panel will be moderated by Tessa LeSage from the Southwest Florida Community Foundation.

We will also be unveiling the cover for the 2020 Fort Myers Chamber Magazine. We go to print soon -don't miss the chance to feature your business in this publication, which is distributed for one year, and available via digital download. NEW MEMBER RECEPTION

MANDATORY MINIMUM WAGE BREAKFAST PANEL
The Mandatory minimum wage topic is going to be part of the conversation during this year’s legislative session and is expected to be included on the 2020 ballot. The Chamber wants the membership to be aware of the details of this initiative and is presenting an event o n Friday, November 8, 7:30-9:30AM at Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre to share information and provide education on the aspects of the potential minimum wage hike in Florida.

The following panel will be facilitated by John Talmage, Lee County Economic Development director: Victor Claar, FGCU Department of Economics ; Lois Croft, Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association ; Dana Brunett, Lee County Economic Development Office ; Jay Johnson, Bubba's Roadhouse & Saloon .
