Horse intentionally injured at Carousel, suspect on video
Twice in the last five months, a horse has been attacked at Carousel Park and Equestrian Center. Someone has snuck into the park overnight and tied string around the legs of a horse just above the hoof, cutting off circulation to the horse's hoof. This action is life threatening and could lead to death if not caught quickly. To see video of the suspect and hear from park personnel, CLICK HERE . 
County kicks off 2020 Scholarship program application process
Last year New Castle County awarded over $50,000 in scholarship funds to students to 32 County residents ranging from $500 to $3,000. Three students also received full academic undergraduate scholarships to Wilmington University. New Castle County is opening this year's program for applications. To apply, CLICK HERE . County and U.S. Census Bureau partner on Census job fairs
Over the months of February and March, New Castle County and the U.S. Census Bureau are partnering on a number of job fairs to fill positions for the 2020 Census. Job fairs will be held at the Route 9 Library in New Castle with open positions ranging from field managers to information technology personnel. County Land Use asks for participants in preservation survey
In August of 2019, the Land Preservation Task Force was launched with a focus on developing a county-wide land preservation strategy. Land preservation has been traditionally approached in two broad categories - Farm Land and Open Space - which are reflected in the survey.
