Public Health Law Conference: Pre-Conference Workshop, Exhibit
October 4 - 6 in Phoenix, AZ
DASH and the Network for Public Health Law are co-producing a pre-conference workshop to assist participants in navigating the legal framework to collect, use, and share data across sectors. DASH is making a limited number of scholarships available to
All In members for both the pre-conference workshop as well as the overall conference. This is a great opportunity for legal advisors to learn more about issues specific to multi-sector data sharing. Those interested in being considered should be a member of the
online community and complete the following interest form by

Data Sharing within Cross-Sector Collaborations: Challenges and Opportunities
A new BUILD report features the five most common data challenges faced by cross-sector teams participating in BUILD, as well as reflections and solutions from the practitioners involved. Topics include HIPAA concerns, logistics of data sharing across various systems, language differences, and more.

Project Spotlights
The North Jersey Health Collaborative, a BUILD 2.0 awardee, is establishing a cross-sector resident and organizational partnership to create the first neighborhood level database and set of local indicators for Franklin, NJ.
Testing Implementation of Foundational Public Health Services (FPHS)
With funding from PHNCI, the Kansas Association of Local Health Departments is advancing planning, piloting, and documenting the evolution of the FPHS model in Kansas, as well as evaluating the use of cross-jurisdictional sharing for specific FPHS components.

Report: Getting to Interoperability in Health and Human Services
Several
All In members contributed to this new environmental scan from AcademyHealth, which highlights technical documents and toolkits that promote interoperability and provide guidance about how to share and integrate information from different sources.
PHNCI Awards Grants to Test Replication of Universal Community Planning Tool in Health Departments
With support from RWJF, PHNCI has awarded grants to five health departments to test the
Universal Community Planning Tool developed by Garrett County Health Department. The tool helps improve health equity by engaging residents in health improvement planning.
Building Bridges to Health through Partnerships with Higher Education
Last year, Building Bridges to Health, a
NJHI awardee, finalized its Blueprint for Action to integrate health and equity in local decision-making in two New Jersey towns. Now, the team is exploring ways to improve the walking and bicycling environments.
Three Projects Receive Inaugural State and Local Innovation Prize
The Chicago Childhood Lead Paint Data-Sharing Project, a former
DASH awardee, recently won the State and Local Innovation Prize. This case study tells the story of the problems they solved, the inspiration behind their work, and the opportunities for innovation they uncovered.

ONC LEAP in Health Information Technology: Due August 17 - The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) is creating a $2 million grant fund for innovative projects that provide solutions to interoperability challenges in health care.

Systems for Action: Due October 10 - This RWJF program funds research that rigorously tests new ways of connecting the nation's fragmented medical, social, and public health systems.

Evidence for Action: Ongoing - RWJF is funding research examining the health impacts of programmatic or policy interventions that address factors outside the domain of health care services or public health practice.
