Dear Friend of CCSD93,
Stratford STEM Wing & Innovation Center Formally Dedicated Last Night!
CCSD93's School Board Cuts the Ribbon on the STEM Wing & Innovation Center
Presenting Stratford's Innovation Center!
A Lab in Stratford's New STEM Wing!
Last night, CCSD93 held a formal Dedication for both Stratford's new STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) Wing and its Innovation Center, featuring the Board of Education, staff members and local dignitaries. The renovations were designed to meet the current and future needs of our students with flexible and comfortable learning spaces, bright and thought provoking colors, embedded technology, areas for collaboration, and many writable surfaces that allow for greater innovation.

We're thrilled about where the new spaces will allow our students to go! The STEM Wing is the first of its kind in DuPage county and will really help our students to delve deeply STEM. Careers in these fields are abounding and expected to continue to rise. The Innovation Center combines many of the modern features applied to the Innovation Centers at Elsie Johnson, Carol Stream, and Roy DeShane, with exciting additions of a domed virtual reality room, a greenhouse, and a space devoted to video production.

I thank the members of the STEM and Innovation Center design committees, made up of Stratford staff, CCSD93 administrators, Board of Education members, and the projects' architect, for their diligent work to develop and design these unique learning spaces. We also can't wait to show you the designs of the new Innovation Centers coming to Jay Stream and Heritage Lakes in 2019-20! Be sure to keep an eye out for more info on them soon.

CCSD93 Interscholastic Soccer Kicks Off!
This week, both Jay Stream and Stratford held tryouts for their first ever soccer teams! Soccer is newly added in 2018-19 to our interscholastic sports offerings, joining volleyball, basketball, wrestling, cheerleading, cross country and track. As the world's most popular sport, we're thrilled to add it for our students. The boys season is getting started and the girls season will take place in the spring. Our schools will face off on September 6 at 4 p.m. at Jay Stream in the first ever match for both!
