SmaRT Ride Is Now Available in Rancho Cordova
Schedule a ride to your local shopping center, a doctor’s visit, school, work or wherever you want to travel with SmaRT Ride! Now in Rancho Cordova North of Folsom Boulevard, SmaRT Ride is available Monday through Friday between 7 AM and 7 PM at a cost of $2.50 per ride. Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis, and groups of five or more traveling to and from the same location all ride for FREE.

Oversight Board Welcomes Two Student Members
The Community Enhancement Fund Oversight Board welcomed two new student members: Alicia Belen Hernandez, a student at George Washington Carver School of Arts and Science, and Vanshit "Vraj" Thakkar, a Freshman at Folsom Lake College. The Board is comprised of Rancho Cordova students and residents who provide an additional layer of oversight to ensure transparency and grant alignment for the Community Enhancement Fund.

Important Holiday Trash Collection Changes and Holiday Tree Recycling
Your normal trash, recycling, and green waste collection day will be affected by the upcoming holiday season during the week of Christmas (Wednesday 12/25 through Saturday 12/28) and the week of New Year's Day (Wednesday 1/1 through Saturday 1/4). During these weeks, pickups will be delayed by one day.

Highway 50 and Zinfandel Drive
Construction on the Highway 50/Zinfandel Drive Interchange Improvements Project continues. The bridge will be widened and a new concrete deck will be poured soon. This project will improve operations, alleviate congestion and provide safer routes for drivers, bikers and pedestrians. The project is on schedule and is anticipated to be completed by March 2020.

Phase IV of the Folsom Blvd. Beautification and Enhancement Project is complete! The project features a new concrete multi-use bicycle and pedestrian path, plus a landscaped median and other landscaping improvements on Folsom Blvd. between Rod Beaudry Drive and Bradshaw Road.

Local Government Speaker Series at Williamson Elementary
Recently, 80 bright and energetic second graders at Williamson Elementary learned about local government and the people that make it run. They participated in a Rancho Cordova civics lesson, met with an Animal Services Officer, as well as a RCPD Officer and K-9 Officer Zoe. They also learned all about recycling from a Republic Services Recycling Coordinator.

Congratulations to These Teams, Squads and Their Coaches!
It's an exciting time for some of our local athletes and their coaches! The Jr. Lancers football team took home the championship trophy against the Foothill Jr. Mustangs. The Jr. Lancers 14U cheerleading squad also took home their championship trophy, and Jr. Peewee 8U squad earned third place. The Little League Juniors won first place in the Fall Ball Tournament.

Cordova High Students Learn Life-Saving Skills
Dozens of students in Cordova High School's newest career program learned life-saving lessons at a daylong training with the District's Health Services professionals. During the Nov. 13 training at the Education Services Center, students learned critical first aid and CPR skills, walking away with not only their certification but aspirations of working in medical fields.
