NYU LANGONE’S CENTER FOR MEN’S HEALTH
The Doctors Are in the House
NYU Langone’s Preston Robert Tisch Center for Men’s Health
NYU Langone’s Preston Robert Tisch Center for Men’s Health located at 555 Madison Avenue opened on January 6, 2014. NYU’s objective “was to find something in midtown that was large and in a highly visible location to cater to the working midtown patient,” explains Adam Milavsky, the Senior Director for Regional Practices at NYU Langone.

Milavsky, who lives in Westchester with his wife, two kids and his newly adopted pandemic puppy Chip, manages NYU outpatient sites across Manhattan, but he likes operating out of 555 Madison and not just because it’s a convenient commute. “I love being a tenant in this building. It’s a good place. The engineers and all the staff are so helpful. My boss is located on Park Avenue and I joke all the time. I am never leaving 555 Madison. It’s my home base.”

Since moving in, the Center for Men’s Health has expanded twice taking on additional floors in the building. Today, more than 80 doctors specializing in internal medicine, cardiology, orthopedic surgery, optometry, rheumatology, neurology and more serve patients at this location. The clinic typically sees 750 patients a day and has about 150,000 unique patient appointments annually.
“We take a collaborative approach to care here, looking at the patient’s overall health goals, not just treating one condition in isolation. Our specialists are all working together. Our endocrinologists and cardiologists are talking and assessing the full patient profile and needs.”

Adam Milavsky
The care taking place here ranges from routine wellness visits to convenient health services and extraordinary life-changing care.

On the convenience side, this health center has launched an innovative retail component, where anyone can come in – whether they see a NYU eye doctor or have their own prescription – and buy eyeglasses, sunglasses or contacts.

On the extraordinary life-changing care side, patients are coming here for new infusion treatments for multiple sclerosis, cardiac rehab after heart surgeries, and for dramatic weight loss management. Under the care of the center’s doctors, 555 Madison’s Lobby Director Sal Fazzolari underwent an extraordinary transformation of his own, dropping more than 95 pounds and reclaiming a more active and healthier lifestyle. “I have the best doctors in the world and I get to see them every day,” boasts Sal.

Today, the clinic has COVID protocols in place, and the operations have adjusted to meet the needs of patients in the moment while ensuring safe practices during the pandemic.

Adam Milavsky’s children – Lyla (3) and Declan (6) – proudly introduce their new puppy Chip to the 555 Madison Community

“NYU has been incredible from the beginning of this pandemic and throughout. As we’ve moved through the pandemic, the planning has been there to enable us to act every step of the way. The leadership has been incredible, and the nursing team is amazing. If I needed a nurse from Manhattan to staff a facility in Brooklyn, there was someone raising their hand. People would volunteer. Everyone pulled together and I am indebted to management and nursing for helping the outpatient sites respond and serve so well during this,” says Milavsky.

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT
Aleisa Sulaman
If you don’t already know her, you’ll probably meet her at some point if you work at 555 Madison Avenue.

Aleisa Sulaman is the tenant coordinator. She has been a part of the Rodney Corporation team for the past two and a half years. As her title implies, Aleisa spends most of her day liaising and helping with tenant projects and requests that range from small, everyday tasks like replacing an ID badge or restarting a computer so someone can work from home during COVID, to the more complex like helping a new tenant settle into their space with ease and convenience.

“I love working here. I love the variety of tenants we have. I am always learning about their different industries. They are all so understanding and my colleagues on the building team are so friendly and always willing to lend a hand,” says Aleisa.

Aleisa’s first job in real estate was at NYU. She worked in the leasing and building management office. “I learned a lot about real estate in that job and I remember when I first came to 555 Madison Avenue for my interview, I saw the check-in desk for the NYU’s Center for Men’s Health and I thought this is meant to be,” recalls Aleisa.
When Aleisa isn’t working, she enjoys museum visits and going out to restaurants. “I am really into desserts and trying new trends.” But with COVID there’s not much of that going on, so she’s making the most of her Netflix, HBO Max and Hulu subscriptions. Right on theme, The Great British Bake Off is a staple in her current entertainment diet. But sometimes, of course, TV cannot satisfy that sweet tooth. If you feel the same way, Aleisa recommends you check out MacarOn Café at 625 Madison Avenue (www.macaroncafe.com). They serve up her favorite desserts in the neighborhood.
