COVID-19 Updates
Please be aware that Outdoor Buddies will be following all state and local guidelines for our events, including the mandated use of masks and social distancing. If you have a fever or other flu-like symptoms, have traveled out of state in the past 2 weeks, or have been in close contact with anyone testing positive for COVID-19, please do not attend these events. Furthermore, if you are in a high-risk category, carefully consider your risk before attending. Participants will be required to sign a waiver prior to attending events until further notice.

We will be continuing to update our events and precautions as the situation develops. Thank you for your patience, optimism, and understanding. Hope all is well with you and yours!

Are You Ready For Your Hunt?
Roger Duckworth with his cow elk from a previous year's hunt
The 2020 big game season is almost here! If you were lucky enough to get a hunt slot with Outdoor Buddies this year, don't forget to inform your hunt coordinator. If you are unable to make your scheduled hunt, please let us know ASAP so we can get someone to fill your spot.

As far as we can tell as of right now, we will be conducting our hunts as planned. The coming months will tell as to what precautions we will need to take, but we are very excited to go hunting with you this year.

Please remember that these hunt slots are limited and we want to take as many people hunting as possible--any last minute cancellations will result in ineligibility to hunt with Outdoor Buddies the following year (exceptions made for emergency situations).
Please Join Us for the 2020 Outdoor Buddies Sporting Clays Shoot, Saturday August 1st
For the sixth consecutive year, Outdoor Buddies is honored to hold the annual Sporting Clays Tournament at Colorado Clays Shooting Park. Due to COVID-19, we will not be serving a lunch or having a raffle. However, we will have some grab-n-go snacks and drinks and we are very excited to get out there to shoot and have fun together! We are accepting individuals and teams to sign up and encourage you to support Outdoor Buddies in our fundraising by attending. Please join us and enjoy being outside, breaking some clays, and supporting a good cause.

Conveniently located just 30 minutes northeast of Denver, only 6 miles from Denver International Airport, an easy drive from the entire Colorado “Front Range”, Colorado Clays Shooting Park offers the region’s most complete shooting range experience.

Please Come Join Us at Colorado Clays! We would love for you to join us for this fun-filled day in the outdoors. Please go to the Outdoor Buddies website and register now! Click the button below to register.
*NEW* Sight-In Event at Skyline Hunt Club
August 8th, 2020
11:30 a.m.
Todd Bacon at the Skyline Hunt Club Range
We are excited to announce that we will be hosting another sight in this year, in addition to the one we will be hosting at Green Mill. Thank you to the folks at Skyline Hunt Club for offering to let us use their amazing facilities!

The event will be held on Saturday, August 8th and is intended to help our mobility-impaired hunters prepare for the upcoming hunting season. Please bring the rifle and ammo you will be hunting with, as well as any adaptive equipment you plan to use.

Only 15 persons can be accommodated at this event so make your reservations soon. To reserve your spot at the sight-in please contact  Jim Piper at  (303) 514-8944 or  geopros@q.com.

Skyline requires current proof of hunter's safety to participate. This can include a hunter's safety card, a hunting license from this or a previous year, or proof of military/LE service. It is preferred that you  email a photocopy to Jim Piper at geopros@q.com prior to the event to speed up registration. If you are unable to do so, you may bring your proof of hunter's safety on the day of the event.

As of Today
The Corona-virus rules will be as follows: wearing of mask and using hand sanitizer provided at the range are required. Shooters are required to bring their own mask. Shooters must also bring their own eye and ear protection as none will be available to borrow.

Range changes
We are scheduled to use the 100, 200, and 300 yard rifle ranges. Shooters will be placed at benches at least 6 feet apart during the event.

There is no charge for the event. Accessible restrooms are available.

Location – Head south on Wadsworth from C-470 and go past the entrance to Chatfield Reservoir. Keep going past the Trailmark Parkway intersection, and then in .8 miles take your first available right onto a dirt road with a gate. A volunteer will be there to open the gate and escort you to the range. See map below.

Eligibility – Outdoor Buddies Mobility-Impaired Members and their Helpers. Youth (under age 18) who possess a hunter safety card are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult relative or guardian. Outdoor Buddies mobility-impaired members will be given an opportunity to shoot first, before others. If you are hunting with Outdoor Buddies this year, make sure to bring the rifle and ammo you plan on using for your hunt.

Registration – Registration will begin at 11:30 AM and shooting will start at approximately 12:00 PM. As noted above, current proof of hunter's safety as well as a photo ID and signatures of provided release waivers will be required for entry.

Ranges – Rifle ranges with 100, 200, and 300 yard targets are available. Range qualified personnel will provide assistance. Targets, spotting scopes, shooting benches, and sandbags are provided.

Eye and ear protection are required! Keep in mind that in an effort to keep equipment clean, borrowed eyes/ears will be limited depending on health guidelines on the date of the event.

No fully automatic weapons will be allowed.

Swift Ponds Family Day Saturday, August 15th
9:00 am - 3:00 pm
The 2020 Outdoor Buddies Family Day at Swift Ponds will be held on Saturday, August 15th. Please bring your family and friends to enjoy the day with Outdoor Buddies! Bring your sons and daughters, grandsons and granddaughters to make memories and build relationships.

There will be catch and release fishing, archery, BB gun shooting, and .22 shooting for beginners and experienced shooters! Swift Ponds has handicap-accessible fishing docks for those on wheels.

Due to renovations at Swift Ponds, we will not have trap shooting available this year. Instead, we will have .22 rifles available to shoot.

There will be equipment available for each of the activities, but please feel free to bring your own fishing equipment and .22 rifle.

Due to the current COVID situation, please bring your own sack lunch to enjoy with your family since we will not be able to serve a meal this year.

We will have on hand the Outdoor Buddies shuttle bus, track chairs, Bad Boy Buggy, Arctic Cat UTV, and ATV with go-getter to help those who need assistance in getting to the different activities.

There will be some bucket raffle items for which you can buy tickets for chances to win some fun items for the whole family! This is a great way to help defer the cost of this fun day, but nobody is required to buy tickets! Come and have a fun filled day with your family and friends!
