We are excited to announce that we will be hosting another sight in this year, in addition to the one we will be hosting at Green Mill. Thank you to the folks at Skyline Hunt Club for offering to let us use their amazing facilities!
The event will be held on Saturday, August 8th and is intended to help our mobility-impaired hunters prepare for the upcoming hunting season. Please bring the rifle and ammo you will be hunting with, as well as any adaptive equipment you plan to use.
Only 15 persons can be accommodated at this event so make your reservations soon. To reserve your spot at the sight-in please contact
Jim Piper at
(303) 514-8944 or
geopros@q.com.
Skyline requires current proof of hunter's safety to participate. This can include a hunter's safety card, a hunting license from this or a previous year, or proof of military/LE service. It is preferred that you
email a photocopy to Jim Piper at geopros@q.com prior to the event to speed up registration. If you are unable to do so, you may bring your proof of hunter's safety on the day of the event.
As of Today
The Corona-virus rules will be as follows: wearing of mask and using hand sanitizer provided at the range are required. Shooters are required to bring their own mask. Shooters must also bring their own eye and ear protection as none will be available to borrow.
Range changes
We are scheduled to use the 100, 200, and 300 yard rifle ranges. Shooters will be placed at benches at least 6 feet apart during the event.
There is no charge for the event. Accessible restrooms are available.
Location – Head south on Wadsworth from C-470 and go past the entrance to Chatfield Reservoir. Keep going past the Trailmark Parkway intersection, and then in .8 miles take your first available right onto a dirt road with a gate. A volunteer will be there to open the gate and escort you to the range. See map below.
Eligibility – Outdoor Buddies Mobility-Impaired Members and their Helpers. Youth (under age 18) who possess a hunter safety card are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult relative or guardian. Outdoor Buddies mobility-impaired members will be given an opportunity to shoot first, before others. If you are hunting with Outdoor Buddies this year, make sure to bring the rifle and ammo you plan on using for your hunt.
Registration – Registration will begin at 11:30 AM and shooting will start at approximately 12:00 PM. As noted above, current proof of hunter's safety as well as a photo ID and signatures of provided release waivers will be required for entry.
Ranges – Rifle ranges with 100, 200, and 300 yard targets are available. Range qualified personnel will provide assistance. Targets, spotting scopes, shooting benches, and sandbags are provided.
Eye and ear protection are required! Keep in mind that in an effort to keep equipment clean, borrowed eyes/ears will be limited depending on health guidelines on the date of the event.
No fully automatic weapons will be allowed.
