Kings Theatre Presents....
Don't miss Kings Theatre's production of The Curious Savage . It is a comedic play about an elderly woman whose husband recently died and left her a large sum of money. She intends to give the entire fortune away to people who wish to pursue their “foolish dreams,” but her stepchildren strongly object and commit her to a sanatorium.

The Curious Savage  is a warm comedy that compares the kindness and loyalty of psychiatric patients with the greed and hostility of so-called “normal people.”

Seats are limited for this intimate "blackbox" style performance. Click here for tickets.
Kings Violinist in All-State Orchestra
Jenna Millecker has been selected to join the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) All-State Orchestra. She is the first violinist from Kings to ever make it into this prestigious group. The process for making it into All-State Orchestra involves an audition and acceptance into the regional orchestra. Since she is a member of the Southwest Region Orchestra and seated high in her section, she was invited to participate and re-audition in All-State Orchestra.

Jenna, along with Keegan FitzGerald, Renee Perpignan , and Olivia Gatto were accepted into this year's Southwest Region Orchestra. Over one hundred fine musicians auditioned for this opportunity and these four gathered with the other lucky high-level musicians to perform on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Fairfield HIgh School.

Congratulations!

Great News from KJH!
At the beginning of November, the Ohio Middle Level Association (OMLA) held their annual State Conference for over 1,000 attendees in Columbus, Ohio. Kings Junior High School Teacher, Susan Seitz was presented with the 2019 Southwest Regional Award for Best Middle Level Practice. The OMLA Regional Award recognizes outstanding middle level educators, programs and schools.

Current Freshman, Norah Bodley was recognized as the OMLA Female Student of the Year. This award is intended to recognize young people who exemplify the best of our youth. Nominated students demonstrate qualities of good citizenship and provide evidence of making a positive contribution to both the school and community.

Norah's nomination was led by Mr. San Marco . Many of her teachers and school counselors contributed positive testimonials as well as her sister Meredith . One of Norah's teachers stated, " Norah is a unicorn of a person. It’s so rare to have a student perform at such a high level academically and also have such positive resilience in such a socially difficult time period in life.” She was presented with a plaque and a $500 check. She also was lucky enough to introduce the Keynote Speaker!

The OMLA is home to over 9,500 middle level educators from throughout the state of Ohio. It is the fastest growing professional development organization in Ohio; serving as the official voice for educators teaching 4th through 9th grade. To learn more, please visit  www.ohiomla.org .
