Can you smell new crayons and freshly sharpened pencils?

As the old Staples TV commercial said, "It's the most wonderful time of the year!" I don't know about you, but I grew up feeling excitement about the first day of school. It was time for fresh new notebooks, sharp pencils, perfect pink erasers and pristine crayons. I felt proud of my "new stuff" and energized to "go get 'em!"

As a teacher, you may have your own version of excitement about the start of a new school year.

At Crayons to Computers, we believe that education is key to breaking the cycle of poverty and that everyone deserves the same opportunity for a great education. We know you see plenty of need in your classroom. Please know that we are proud to partner with you who are on the front lines - to help make a difference in the lives of so many in our region.

Thank you for all that you do. Thank you for teaching the next generation. Thank you for caring.

Here's to a great school year! Now - let's go get 'em!

Outfit A Teacher - August 6 - 30

Macy's knows there is nothing more important to students' success than their teachers. To say thanks, Macy's wants to make sure our teachers start the school year looking and feeling their very best!

Macy's will outfit four teachers who contribute toward a generous matching grant* from the Stillson Foundation, Fifth Third Bank, Trustee. We need your help! Crayons is asking all our teacher shoppers to help us match this $10,000 grant. It is a great opportunity to double your impact.

If you value having access to free supplies from Crayons, please consider a donation of any amount. Even $5 goes a long way towards helping us provide students in need with the tools to succeed in school. While contributions of any size are welcome and appreciated, gifts of $20 or more will be entered into a drawing each week between August 6 - 30. The winner will receive Macy's "Outfit a Teacher" prize package including a complimentary styling session and $250 Macy's gift card.

3 Teachers, 2 Minutes, 1 Cart ... GO!
Left to right: Janet Albright, Michelle Baggett and Nancy Holt

Our 3-2-1 Matching Grant Contest Winners  were given two minutes to shop for anything they could fit in their carts. From backpacks to hand sanitizer, they took advantage of every second filling their carts with essentials for the classroom. We thank them for their generosity toward our matching grant and for the entertainment they provided as they dashed through the store.
