Today's Program
Kate Dwyer is the new Executive Director of the Four Way Community Foundation. First there was Phil Hart followed by Mike Murphy. Then Jann Taylor and finally Walt Slater. Each time a new director has taken over, the Foundation has grown. Kate will take it to a whole new level because that's who she is. Here's a bit about Kate:
She has lived in Takilma for 27 years and had a catering company called Kate Dwyer Catering. She worked for the Josephine Community Library as their outreach coordinator teaching businesses how to access the library's vast resources. She is the community development coordinator for the Illinois Valley Community Development Organization and is implementing the IV 20/20 Strategic Plan using a convening and partnership model. She is also the chair of the Three Rivers School District Board along with sitting on two other boards, UCAN and the Takilma Community Association.
(Hold on - we have to catch our breath here)
She is married to Mark Dwyer of County Plumbing and has two sons: Liam, a senior at Columbia University, and Owen, a senior at IV High School and an aspiring actor. Her hobbies are willow basketry, food and flower gardening, cooking and baking.
Kate is committed to the belief that we have far more in common than we have divisions and that building partnerships to move forward on common goals is the best way to make progress as a community.
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
There has been quite a lot of discussion about Pacific Power and the new meters. Christina Kruger, Pacific Power Regional Business Manager will be our program in December to talk about the Pacific Power of the future. She wanted to have me post this public meeting notice for you all: Workshop at the Josephine County Fairgrounds on September 22 from 11am - 1pm to discuss the meters.
