A Man in Full by Tom Wolfe
At John's suggestion, we'll give ourselves the summer to read the recently deceased Tom Wolfe's A Man In Full. When it came out in 1998, Michiko Kakutani's N Y Times review was headlined, "Wolfe Turns 'Bonfire' Upside Down." She called it "a big if qualified leap forward for Wolfe as a novelist...[with] characters who bear more of a resemblance to real, sympathetic human beings, and Wolfe's novelistic canvas has expanded persuasively to include not merely the powerful and rich but also the poor and middle class."

This story time features short stories, interspersed with songs and finger plays and runs for about 20 minutes. It is geared for children ages birth to three years.

This session features three thematically-related stories and a tie-in craft or activity. This session runs for about 45 minutes. Geared for children ages 3-5 years.

Breastfeeding Support Group
Are you breastfeeding? Pregnant and plan to breastfeed? Meet monthly to discuss any breastfeeding related issues you may have or to just share/swap stories with other breastfeeding moms.
The group is led by an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) who can help you through any stage of your breastfeeding journey (pregnancy through weaning).
Cost is totally free and older kids are welcome. Meetings are held in the Children's section of the library.

Mezz Gallery Exhibit
ECHOES: Landscape, Streetscape, Dreamscape
featuring the work of Mark J Curran.
Metaphor is the imagination at work. As William Blake wrote: "Imagination is the real and eternal world of which this universe is but a faint shadow. What is now proved was once only imagined." My photography-based digital art attempts to explore this idea.
I plan to show works arranged in pairs that are intended to elicit resonances in the viewer, creating a slightly relaxed, dreamlike state conducive to imagining likenesses and stories. . . .
