Aging Well in the Community -- Save-the-Date
October 21 at 7:00 pm -- in the Oneg Room at the temple
We will be screening the movie "5 Flights Up". Diane Keaton and Morgan Freeman are Ruth and Alex, a retired couple who begin to question whether they should stay in the wonderful 5th floor Brooklyn apartment (with no elevator) that they have lived in for 40 years; the stairs are harder to manage. The movie follows them as they try to sell their apartment and look for a new one, and begin to more deeply ask what is important to them in the place that they live. Following the movie, we hope you will stay to discuss how the issues in this movie relate to each of us.

Save  Sunday evening, November 11th to learn about the "village-movement" with a speaker from Cambridge Neighborhoods.

You are also invited to join us to talk about what concerns are on your mind, and help us plan other programs to offer for the coming year.   If you have any questions, would like to join our planning process, or be on our Aging Well mailing list, please contact Paula Solomon at  pksolomon@aol.com

  • Join Temple Shir Tikvah in voting YES on 3 to protect transgender rights in Massachusetts. Two years ago, transgender equality was written into the law in Massachusetts. That victory meant that transgender people in Massachusetts can go about their daily lives knowing that they can't lawfully be turned from any public spaces. However, a statewide ballot question in November aims at repealing those protections. Temple Shir Tikvah is joining a broad coalition led by the Freedom for All Massachusetts campaign that includes more than 350 clergy, faith leaders, and congregations across the state that commits vote YES on 3 to uphold transgender rights. We urge you to pledge voting YES on 3 by using this link--  https://www.keshetonline.org/ma-ballot-initiative/vote-yes/
