We hope you'll join us for Holy Week and Easter as we remember our Savior's journey: from celebration on Palm Sunday to the Last Supper on Maundy Thursday to the cross on Good Friday to triumphing over death on Easter Sunday.

Learn about the 90-Day Tithing Challenge as mentioned during today's message.
The final collection day for the children's book drive is next Sunday. The book drive benefits BĂȘte Gbanee School in Paynesville and the Dominic Hena School in Kakata and is part of a celebration of the 20th anniversary of Asbury in Mission's Barrels of Love ministry. Please gather new or gently used children's books 

(no textbooks please). Look to your children for titles they particularly enjoy(ed). Deliver them to the upper parking lot at Asbury next Sunday, March 21, between 9 AM and 10:30 AM.

A merger between Salem UMC and Asbury Church is set to become effective on March 31, with final approval to come at the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference's Annual Conference in May.

Charge Conference Webinar - Thursday, March 18, 5 PM
In accordance with para 2546 of the 2016 UM Book of Discipline, Merger of Local United Methodist Churches, a special Charge Conference is being held by Allentown: Asbury UMC, called by Superintendent Steven Morton, for the purpose of considering a proposal to merge with the congregation at Allentown: Salem UMC, effective 3/31/21. All are welcome to attend but only the elected members of the current church council are responsible for voting on the proposal (para 246.2). The Charge Conference will take place Thursday, March 18, at 5 PM via Zoom.

Opportunities

Today is the final day to complete the survey developed by the worship team to help guide them as they plan for the next few months. Complete the survey at asburylv.org/springsurvey.

Join us for worship on Sundays! In-person worship is offered at 9 AM in the Sanctuary (registration required; capacity limited - visit asburylv.org/inpersonworship for info and to register). Streaming worship is offered at 10:30 AM on Sunday at live.asburylv.org.
 
If you shared our a prayer request during the live stream this morning, we've forwarded them on to our prayer team, who will be fervently praying for you this week. If you have something you'd like prayer for and haven't yet shared it, send it to the prayer team at prayer@asburylv.org.


Scholarships Available
Asbury has a number of scholarships available to students in various fields of collegiate study. VIsit asburylv.org/scholarships to learn more and apply.

Upcoming UMW Circle Meetings:
In lieu of their regular study, Sarah Circle is taking advantage of a unique opportunity to further explore the topic of racism in America on Wednesday, March 17th at 7 PM via Zoom. The group has been studying the book Black and White: Disrupting Racism One Friendship at a Time. On March 17th they will be joining others of faith to view a documentary focused on better understanding of our actions and emotions that contribute to systemic racism. In April, the group will resume our discussion of their ongoing study book. Visit Asbury's website to sign up to receive more info.

Help Needed to Create Sleeping Mats (PLARN)
Help to create plastic sleeping mats for the homeless to insulate them from the cold dampness of the ground. Mats are created from plastic grocery bags. Wendy Arbushites can teach you how to do the entire process - it's very easy! Click here to view a slideshow with steps to make a mat.

We hope children and their families will join us for a fun, unique approach to celebrating Holy Week and Easter. Families will receive palms and be part of a drive through Palm Sunday Parade, see stations representing The Last Supper, Jesus Praying in the Garden and more.

Where: Asbury's lower level parking lot. Please enter off of Winchester Road.

Families can take palms home with them following the event to have them available for online worship on Palm Sunday.
