Transportation advisory group volunteer opportunity
Metro and the City of Tukwila have partnered on a Community Connections project to address the local mobility needs of Tukwila residents, and to improve mobility options for residents traveling to, from and around Tukwila. King County Metro's Community Connections Program brings mobility services to areas of King County that do not have the infrastructure, density or land use to support traditional bus service.
During this project, Metro and City staff will collaborate with a group of community representatives and stakeholders to identify residential mobility needs in Tukwila, and develop mobility solutions to address these needs. These group members will be asked to attend approximately four meetings, over the course of six months, beginning in mid-September 2018. All meetings will take place in Tukwila, scheduled for days and times of the week that work best for the majority of the group members.

August 7 is the date for the 2018 National Night Out Against Crime
Each year, hundreds of Tukwila residents join their neighbors in celebrating an evening of fun while sending the message to criminals that they are not welcome in Tukwila!
NNO is an annual event celebrated across the U.S., Canada and military installations. The evening is set-aside for residents to come together to meet one another and share crime prevention tips. Tukwila Police and Fire Departments as well as City Council members, Code Enforcement officers and Tukwila Human Services representatives visit each neighborhood event that "registers" their event.
Sign up online by August 1, 2018 to register your event for 2018 National Night Out Against Crime on the evening of August 7, 2018.

Primary election is coming on August 7. No stamp? No problem.
King County Elections is making it easier than ever for voters to participate! In May, the King County Council approved a budget request for prepaid postage, which will allow voters in King County to return their ballot through the mail without a stamp. Last year King County Elections conducted two prepaid postage pilot projects with successful results. Eliminating the need for a stamp removes a barrier for voters, encourages higher ballot return rates, and allows all communities to become further engaged in the elections process. Ballot drop boxes will still be available 24/7, up till 8:00pm on Election Day.
Ballots for the upcoming August 7 primary election are expected to be mailed out to registered voters in mid-July. The deadline for in-person registration for new voters is July 30.
