Highlights of Presentation and Discussion Items


The following items were presented to the Board:
Finance Report -
As of October 31,2019 the Board learned the system is at 26.20  percent for the budget year. The Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax revenues for October 2019 were up 2.81percent from 2018 collections and up 1.21 percent from last month. A financial statement, investment reports, and bond summaries were also shared, as well as a detailed capital projects analysis. 
Redistricting Draft Map -
Joey Pirkle, Deputy Superintendent, presented the draft of the redistricting map to populate future school Pooles Mill and relieve overcrowding in surrounding schools after public comments.  
Draft School Calendar 2021-2022 -
Joey Pirkle presented the final draft School Calendar for 2021-2022. 
CCRPI Results 
LeeAnne Rice, Assessment and Accountability Director, and Tim Keyser, Accountability Coordinator, presented the latest CCRPI results for Forsyth County.  Forsyth County was well above the state average in all categories and earned the highest 2019 score among Metro-Atlanta county school districts and large school districts in Georgia.

were approved:


Approve Redistricting Map - 
Dr. Bearden recommended that the Board approve the redistricting map as presented with one change and providing transportation to the Kelly Mill DLI students. This was approved by unanimous vote.  The approved map is available on our website.

Approve School Calendar 2021-2022-
Dr. Bearden recommended approval for the 2021-2022 school calendar. This was approved by unanimous vote.
