The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has scheduled an Open House for Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018 at the Madisonville Recreation Center from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. to share current plans and results of environmental studies for transportation improvements along the Red Bank Corridor including:
  • The reconstruction of "Old" Red Bank Road and Hetzel Street
  • The extension of Babson Place to Red Bank Expressway
  • Mainline improvements to Red Bank Expressway
  • Accommodations for bicyclists and pedestrians
ODOT and the Eastern Corridor Partners worked extensively with local communities, businesses, and schools several years ago to identify preferred transportation improvements for the Red Bank Corridor. Since then, ODOT has completed one project - the Duck Creek Connector - and has been conducting the necessary environmental studies and design development for the remaining projects. The purpose of the Open House is to share with the community the results of these efforts and to answer questions.

Initial concepts for the projects to be discussed at the Open House were outlined in the Red Bank Corridor Preferred Alternative Implementation Plan, completed in 2014. Open House visitors will learn more about each of the planned projects including how they would be configured, how they would operate and look, and what the projected costs will be. While each of the projects offer benefit on their own, they also work together to improve overall travel and access along this important community connector, support economic development and provide the infrastructure needed to support new jobs, residents and visitors coming to the Red Bank area.

With the completion of its study efforts, ODOT will release plans for the Red Bank Corridor components to the City of Cincinnati for funding and construction. It is expected that the projects will be built in staggered phases, depending on when funding is secured.

The Red Bank Corridor is a core component of the Eastern Corridor Program of transportation improvements. The Red Bank study area extends between US 50 (Columbia Parkway) in Fairfax and the I-71 ramp in Madisonville. More information about the Red Bank Corridor project and the Eastern Corridor Program is available on the Red Bank Corridor Overview page of the Eastern Corridor website.

Vi sitors to the Oct. 17 Open House may arrive at any point during the meeting time to review project information and talk with the planning team. The Madisonville Recreation Center is ADA accessible and is located at 5320 Stewart Road.
