Sea Pines Forest Preserve Prescribed Burn Conducted

On Wednesday, March 10, 2021, a prescribed burn test was safely conducted in a small test area of the Sea Pines Forest Preserve. Prescribed burns are a valuable forest management tool and will be an important part of Sea Pines Forest Preserve’s Ecological Land Management Plan as we look to the future. The burns mimic natural wildfires, which have historically shaped habitats in the Lowcountry, but are controlled to occur at the right place and right time. The Sea Pines Forest Preserve Foundation will continue to evaluate the most appropriate way to reintroduce fire as a natural element of the Forest Preserve ecosystem. Beach Walk and Board Walk #18 Closed For Replacement/ Extension

Beginning the week of March 15th, Sea Pines CSA contractors will begin replacement and construction work on CSA beach boardwalk #18 (between Green Wing Teal Rd. and Cedar Waxwing Dr). Boardwalk #18 has exceeded its useful life and must be replaced. During this work, the boardwalk will also be extended by 120 feet over the dune to aid in the protection and allow the dune to continue to build. This work will take approximately 1 to 2 weeks, weather permitting. The beach boardwalk access will be closed to all pedestrian traffic during this time.

Beach Walk #26 Closed For Drainage Work

The Town of Hilton Head will be executing drainage work within the utility easements along Beachwalk #26 between Snowy Egret Road and Surf Scoter Road. The Beachwalk will be closed to all pedestrian traffic for project work through Tuesday, March 16th.

Tree trimming along CSA managed beach walks to resume the week of 3/15/21

Tree work will resume on Monday, March 15th at Beach Walk #40 and will continue south through Friday, March 19th, weather permitting
Advisory signs and other safety devices will be used in the work zones.
Bikers & pedestrians are asked to proceed with caution.

Roadway milling and paving operations began March 8th on North Sea Pines Drive from Lighthouse Road towards Red Cardinal Road

Sea Pines CSA contractors will be conducting work tomorrow, Saturday, March 13th, traffic delays are expected.
Flag persons will be present as needed to control traffic with alternating single-lane closures in the designated work zone.
Tri-axle vehicles are encouraged to use the Greenwood Gate located off of Greenwood Drive for entering and exiting the Sea Pines community.
Please observe and obey all traffic management personnel, signage and devices.
Please use caution while driving in this area. To avoid delays in the project area, please use the main gate located on Greenwood Drive.

Property owners who have not paid their 2021 CSA Annual Assessments will be receiving a second notice in the coming week. These outstanding balances will include both late fees and interest charges. Please remit payment promptly to ensure no further delinquent charges to your account. If you need a copy of your invoice and/or instructions on how to pay your assessment, please e-mail Tracey McNeill at traceym@csaseapines.com

For those property owners with outstanding balances on March 31, 2021, your guest pass, as well as your rental guest pass privileges, will be suspended. We sincerely appreciate all property owners who have remitted payments timely.

Daylight Saving Time Reminder

Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at 2:00 A.M. On Saturday night, set your clocks forward one hour (i.e., losing one hour) to “spring forward.” This is also a good time to check/change batteries in your smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, and weather radios.
