Mission San Luis Rey Parish would like to welcome Fr. Oscar A. Méndez-Guzman, OFM,  to our parish. Father will be filling in for Fr. Francisco while he is on sabbatical for the next few months.

Communion to the Sick
With thanksgiving, for the month of April, we celebrate the Sick and Homebound Ministry at Mission San Luis Rey Parish.

A deep love and reverence for the most Holy Eucharist forms the heart of Franciscan Spirituality. The love and humility of God for us is clearly expressed in the Eucharist. 

St. Francis wrote: ”Let the entire man be seized with fear; let the whole world tremble; let heaven exult when Christ, the Son of the Living God, is on the altar in the hands of the priest. O admirable height and stupendous condescension!” 

 “In this world, I cannot see the Most High Son of God with my own eyes, except for His Most Holy Body and Blood." Bringing Christ to our brothers and sisters who are sick or home-bound, gives them an opportunity to see Jesus in the Eucharist , and experience the love and concern of our parish community.

Con acción de gracias, durante el mes de abril, celebramos el Ministerio de Enfermos y Confinados en Casa en la Parroquia Misión Mission San Luis Rey.

Un profundo amor y reverencia por la Santa Eucaristía forma el corazón de la Espiritualidad Franciscana.
El amor y la humildad de Dios por nosotros se expresa claramente en la Eucaristía.

San Francisco escribió: "Deja que todo hombre sea apoderado del miedo; deja que todo el mundo tiemble; que el cielo se regocije cuando Cristo, el Hijo del Dios viviente, esté sobre el altar en manos del sacerdote. ¡Oh altura admirable y condescendencia estupenda!"

"En este mundo, no puedo ver al Altísimo Hijo de Dios con mis propios ojos, a excepción de Su Santísimo Cuerpo y Sangre".

Llevar a Cristo a nuestros hermanos y hermanas que están enfermos confinados o en casa, les da la oportunidad de ver a Jesús, y experimentar el amor y la preocupación de nuestra
comunidad parroquial.
