THIS SUNDAY'S SERVICE
REV. FLORENCE CAPLOW
Sunday, March 14 at 10:15 a.m. via Livestream

Recent scientific work has identified “awe” as a powerful force for good in our lives. Can awe be cultivated? What do religions say about awe? Where have YOU found awe in your life? Rev. Caplow would love to hear your stories or see photos that express awe for you – send to minister@uucuc.org.

UPCOMING SUNDAY SERVICES
REV. SALLY FRITSCHE
Sunday, March 21 at 10:15 a.m. via Livestream

St. Patrick famously compared the Trinitarian God to a three-leaf shamrock – how might we as UUs answer him today with our own understandings of the divine and the natural world? Join us this Sunday to celebrate the Spring Equinox and embrace the vivid diversity of UU belief with the vibrant poetic language of the Earth.
REV. FLORENCE CAPLOW
Sunday, March 28 at 10:15 a.m. via Livestream

Each year for our UUCUC auction one of the items is the privilege of choosing a topic for a sermon. Last year Kathleen Robbins had the winning bid, and this topic, on inequality, is her chosen one. We all know that inequality is increasing in our nation and around the world. What does it mean for us? How can we respond? What are the ethical and moral dimensions of inequality? Come watch Rev. Caplow wrestle with these thorny questions.

Do you want her to speak on a particular topic next year? Make a bid at our April auction!

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS
New adult religious education offerings for 2021 have been announced in the Adult Religious Education Prospectus earlier this month. It promises to be a fun semester of classes, workshops, discussion and creative learning. The adult religious education committee is working on new programs to be added to this semester’s program. Keep an eye here for updates! Also, updates will be included in the eNews and on the church calendar.
OUR CARING CONGREGATION
Please consider donating to the Little Free Pantries run by Julie Laut and AJ Herzog, which they have kept active daily since late spring. In order to address increased and unique needs this winter, they have created an Amazon wish list. All items will be delivered to Julie's house and shared between the two pantries. Donations of all items will continue to be accepted as usual at both locations, if you want to bring them in person.

Thank you for your support and generosity ~ Julie and AJ
JOYS AND SORROWS sent to joysandsorrows@uucuc.org last Sunday, March 7.
From Michele Townsend Grove: A joy for Cathy Ritchie and all the others who have honored the life and death of Kari Alice Lynn. Just this week, our UUCUC library received a large box of wonderful books bought in honor of Kari Alice lovingly donated by Cathy Ritchie. UUCUC members who are anxious to use the church library will have the opportunity to check these books out once the library team has the system up and running. We hope that we will be ready by the start of summer.

From Rev. Sally Fristche: I am overjoyed to know that we have officially renewed our designation as a Welcoming Congregation! This means we are putting in the work and education needed to make this faith community one that fully embraces and celebrates lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer identities. A thousand thank-yous to the lay-leaders who continue to do this work - you are truly living into our UU values!

From Umeeta Sadarangani: My parents will celebrate their 59th wedding anniversary tomorrow, March 8. We hope to visit them in Connecticut this summer to celebrate in person after a long time apart.

From Tanja Hodges: I'm feeling grateful that my sister's family is Covid-free now. No casualties. Also, my mom has had her second Covid Vaccination. Things are starting to look up!

From Jerry Carden & Tim Temple: Please keep two of our dear friends, a local couple, in your thoughts as they both face major health challenges and life changes as a result.

From Debbie Rugg: Each Sunday a Joy to watch and listen to Juan Camacho Castro’s light-skilled touch in our Sanctuary!

From Debra Karplus: A very flattering article in Saturday News Gazette page B-2 about my daughter Sari Karplus and the award winning children’s book she authored. I am so proud of her.

Please send your joys or sorrows to joysandsorrows@uucuc.org any time before the Joys and Sorrows portion of the service. They will be read aloud.
