PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Jacksonville's budget was the main topic of discussion by last week's guest speaker Councilman Greg Anderson. Unlike the multi-million dollar deficit the city had after the 2008 recession our city has a budget this year in excess of a billion dollars. The largest department in the budget is our Police Department.
Our calendar is full of events for the remaining quarter of the year. You can see them on our website. I hope you can join us!

SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE MEETING - OCT 4
The Scholarship Committee is gearing up for another successful year of awarding scholarships to deserving Southside elementary school safety patrol students. Our first meeting of the academic year is scheduled for Tuesday, October 4. The group will meet 3 - 4 times per year. 5TH ANNUAL CLAY SHOOT - OCT 13
The 5th Annual YAP JROTC Charity Clay Shoot will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018.
The event includes 12 & 20 gauge ammunition for shooters, 100 sporting clays and BBQ lunch catered by The Stumbling Steer BBQ. All proceeds benefit the JROTC Scholarship Program. Remember that we are holding our monthly "Table Talk" every third Wednesday of the month. At these meetings, we will forgo having a Spotlight Speaker and instead use the time to facilitate networking and business growth directly from your lunch table, using a set of structured discussion questions.
