A message from your Chamber

The Greater Taylor Chamber of Commerce is proud to continue a long-standing tradition of honoring and thanking local farmers for all they do for our community, state and nation. We do that by recognizing the farmers and their families who bring in the first legal loads and bales each year.
This year's recipients are Billy Carlson for the first bale of cotton, Emory Stromberg by the first load of corn, Matthew Richter for the first load of wheat and Michael Krueger for the first load of milo.
There is nothing we can do to repay farmers for their contributions but the Taylor Chamber, Williamson County Grain and Taylor Compress are please to award this year's winners with $150 as a token of our gratitude and with  our best wishes for your continued success in your farming and agricultural endeavors.
Farmers in our community are essential to maintaining the farming tradition that is such a large part of our community's heritage.

Haunted Taylor
Join guides from the Taylor Conservation and Heritage Society on a nighttime stroll through the murderous and macabre, the frightening and fascinating, history of Taylor.
Tours are offered at 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. on Saturdays Oct. 19 and Oct. 26 for $20 available here.
Tickets usually sell out well before the tour dates so don't miss your opportunity to r evel in tales of Taylor's rough and tumble past and the stories behind many familiar buildings (and the structures that preceded them) in our historic downtown.
Tours begin in the Louie Mueller Barbecue parking lot,  last up to 1.5 hours and are about 3/4 of a mile long. Please wear comfortable shoes. While there is no age requirement, please know that some rather gruesome material will be discussed during the tour that may not be appr
opriate for young children.
