Sheila Athens is a published author and a book coach who specializes in mainstream fiction, women's fiction and romance. In addition to her own private book coaching practice, she coaches writers and mentors book-coaches-in-training at Author Accelerator, the nation's premiere book coaching company. Joe Eckstein is a children's book author, illustrator, and cartoonist who loves to encourage and inspire people through art and stories.
Originally from Ohio and drawing and writing stories since he can remember, he has a Bachelor's degree in fine art from Bowling Green State University and has worked as an illustrator for leading children's education publisher Carson-Dellosa. His work has been published in books, greeting cards, magazines, and newspapers.

Formatting your book using Windows
Rich is a long standing member of MIW, has published 13 thriller novels, and is the Chairman of the Marco Writers Farmers Market. The discussion will start with a normal Word formatted document and how to meet all of the formatting requirements for submission to Amazon for self publishing. Rich will do the presentation using his laptop and some handouts.
A special thanks to Rebeca Seitz for her informative talk about the publishing industry at our August meeting. I think everyone walked away with new knowledge to help us navigate this complicated and intriguing world.

About The Book
: Somewhere on the island of Puerto Rico, a territory of the United States, groups of young men and boys are kneeling with fingers interlocked on their heads. Others are being handcuffed, arrested and bused to courts throughout the island. There they face a system designed to keep them in, requiring more federal funds to maintain them, their families on welfare, the Department of Corrections and their families too. Leaving Puerto Rican murdering Puerto Rican. All victims of the islands Drug Trade. A
Trade that has been running rampant for decades. A trade that must yield to the legalization of Marijuana in order for the island to become self-reliant and recover it's pride and dignity.
About the Author: Garcia Ortiz was born on September 11th. 1960 in New York City's Spanish Harlem. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy, he studied at the August Propersi School of Art in Greenwich, Ct. Later becoming an Artesano and Tattoo artist in Cayey, Puerto Rico. While living there he saw many families torn apart by drugs and the violence they bring. He heard too many mothers cry at one too many funerals. Ten years later having survived addictions of his own Garcia-Ortiz now lives in Florida where he tells a sad tale of a pretty place suffering ugly times.
