Volleyball's Historic Season Comes to Close in NCAA Regionals
The Virginia Wesleyan University volleyball team fell in a heartbreaker to No. 22 Juniata, 3-2 (17-25, 25-19, 23-25, 25-13, 15-9), Friday afternoon in the NCAA Championship Regional Round played at Christopher Newport University. With the result, the Marlins finish the year with a record of 28-8 which sets the program record for wins in a season.

Matalus Named to AVCA All-Region Team
Amber Matalus of the Virginia Wesleyan University volleyball team has been tabbed All-South Region First Team member by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). This is the second-straight season Matalus has earned this honor.

The Virginia Wesleyan University Men's Cross Country team placed 21st at the NCAA DIII South/Southeast Region Championships Saturday morning. The team had a score of 553 points and a time of 2:18.16.

Women's XC Takes 30th at NCAA Regional
The Virginia Wesleyan Women's Cross Country team placed 30th on Saturday morning at the NCAA DIII South/Southeast Region Cross Country Championship. The team scored 801 points and averaged a time of 2:14.10.

Men's Basketball Marches Past Pacers at Home
The Virginia Wesleyan University men's basketball team defeated William Peace University, 78-63, Tuesday evening at the Jane P. Batten Student Center. With the victory, the Marlins improve to 2-0 on the year while the Pacers drop to 0-2.

Women's Basketball Drops Championship Game to Eagles
The Virginia Wesleyan University Women's Basketball team dropped their game against Mary Washington 73-37 in the Hyatt Place Tip-Off Tournament. With the result, the Marlins move to 1-2 on the year while the eagles improve to 3-1.

Women's Soccer Nabs Five All-ODAC Spots; Crawford Tabbed Rookie of the Year
Five members of the Virginia Wesleyan University women's soccer team were named All-Conference by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) for their performances over the 2019 season. Shae Geary and Mia Meinhardt both earned spots on the First Team, while Kennedi Anders was tabbed a Second Teamer. Camryn Terry and Sam Crawford both earned Third Team recognition while Crawford was also crowned the ODAC's Rookie of the Year.
