Dear 5th Grade Parents,
I hope you and your families had a restful spring break, and I am thankful that we are returning to in-person instruction today.
This year, we were fortunate to be able to reallocate Chromebooks from recent Woodcliff Lake Education Foundation grants across our school so that each in-person fifth grade student is able to have a dedicated Chromebook to use in the classroom; and we have devices available for remote students who are in need of them. In order to make the best use of these devices, each fifth grade Chromebook has been enrolled with Dyknow, a web tool that allows teachers to monitor students’ screens, websites, and applications during school hours. Beginning this week, the fifth grade teachers will use Dyknow to assess students’ progress in real-time, monitor their access to specific websites, and keep them focused on their lesson activities. This program has been used by Woodcliff Middle School for several years as well and been successful in enhancing technology use.
If you have any questions about our use of this program, please feel free to let me know.
Sincerely,
Stefanie Marsich
