Picture Day
Picture Day is
Thursday, September 20
.
If you plan to purchase pictures, there are two ways to order:
- Send in the Ripcho Studio order form with your child OR
- Order online at ripchostudio.com before Picture Day and up until 48 hours after Picture Day. Bassett's password is 1250bass.
- If you order online on or after Picture Day, color backgrounds are not available.

MEETING FOR OFFICER CANDIDATES
4th grade
officer candidates are asked to attend a MANDATORY meeting on
Tuesday, September 18
at 7:20 am in Mrs. DeAnna's classroom. Students should bring their prepared speech of approximately two minutes in length ready to read.
OFFICER CANDIDATE POSTERS
4th grade
officer candidates who attend the mandatory meeting may put up their poster (28" by 22" maximum size)
anytime after the meeting.
OFFICER SPEECHES/VOTING
Please note that the date of 4th grade officer speeches has changed! Speeches
will take place on
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 26 at 9:15 am in the gym, followed by voting.
Voting for 1st-3rd grade representatives will be either Wednesday, September 26 or Thursday,
September 27.
Voting for 4th grade representatives will be either Thursday,
September 27 or Friday, September 28.

Note for Link Enrichment Activities
If your child is attending an after-school Link Enrichment Activity at Bassett (such as Yoga, Progress with Chess, Eager Engineers, Eager Artists, or Taekwondo), please send in a note to your child's teacher indicating that your child will go to Link at dismissal time.
Once your child is at Link, instructors will make sure students get to the right classroom at the right time for their activity.
Birthday Books
If you would like to purchase a book for the Bassett library in honor of your child's birthday (or other special event), please submit the
Birthday Book form with payment by
Friday, September 28. Please make checks payable to Westlake Board of Education.

Congratulations to
Jessica Kim and
Erin Westley, our PTA Membership Chairs, for being our Bassett PTA Star Players for September! From volunteering at Open House, introducing Cheddar Up online payments, and tracking our Membership enrollment, they have been hard at work this past month. Thank you for everything you do!
Jessica and Erin will be recognized at the Westlake Council of PTAs meeting on Wednesday along with the star players from the other Westlake PTA units.

Gift Wrap, Holiday Gifts & Treats, Kitchen Items, Cookie Dough, and More!
Bassett PTA's fall fundraiser raises money for programs, events, equipment, and more that enrich the educational experience of our children at Bassett!
- Sales packets were sent home with each student last week.
- If you want to participate in this fundraiser, use the order forms in the sales packet to take orders for items in the brochures. The kids get excited about selling, so we encourage you to talk to friends and family! We do not promote door to door sales.
- To set up online ordering: go to supportmyschool.org to register/login. Our School ID is 356330; Student ID is located at the top of your order form. *Please note that cookie dough is not available online.

ORDER DEADLINE
Orders are due by
Tuesday, September 25
. Use the provided envelope to return ALL copies of your order forms and payment. Checks should be payable to Bassett PTA. If possible, please write one check to Bassett PTA for the total amount of your sales.

Please plan to pick up your order on Wednesday, October 24, between 2:30 and 6:00 pm in the Bassett gym.

Direct Donation

HARVEST DAY 
Bassett Family Fun Night
Oct. 11, 6:00-8:00 pm
Harvest Day is Thursday, October 11, 6:00-8:00 pm (there is no school October 12).
Harvest Day is a PTA-sponsored family fun night at Bassett featuring games & activities, food trucks, silent auction & raffles, and more!
It is one of Bassett PTA's largest annual fundraisers.
Books needed for Book Walk! 
We are collecting donations of new and gently used kids books for our book walk game! Please drop off donations in the box across from the Bassett office. Thank you!

REFLECTIONS
Creative Arts Contest
Students in all grades are invited to participate in Reflections! Reflections is an annual PTA-sponsored creative arts contest. This year's theme is,
Heroes Around Me.
- Categories include: visual arts, literature, photography, music composition, dance choreography, and film production.
- Grade divisions are: Primary (preschool-grade 2); Intermediate (grades 3-5); Middle/Junior (grades 6-8); Senior (grades 9-12)
- The Reflections Quick Start flyer is here. This flyer provides guidelines for each category. The Reflections entry form is here.
- Entries are due at the Bassett office by Monday, November 12.
Artwork will be displayed at the Reflections Art Show on Thursday, November 29, 3:30-7:00 pm at Westlake Porter Public Library. There will be a Reflections awards ceremony in February.

WESTLAKE MUSIC BOOSTERS
Westlake Music Boosters supports Westlake Schools music programs and teachers from pre-K through 12th grade.
- Music Boosters' fundraiser with Landmark Lawn and Garden Supply runs through December 31.
- Westlake High School Varsity Football has a home game on Friday, September 21 at 7:00 pm. The WHS Marching Band, "The Pride of Westlake" will perform. Let's fill the stands and show our support!
