NOISY OFFERING THIS SUNDAY
We've watched Hurricane Florence strengthen in the Atlantic this week, and in anticipation of its impact, we've dedicated September's Noisy Offering to  Lutheran Disaster Response . While we do not yet know the extent of the damage this hurricane will bring, we do know that the need for disaster response is forecast to be extreme, and there will be both immediate and long-term need. LDR brings God’s hope, healing and renewal to people whose lives have been disrupted by disasters in the United States and around the world. When the flood waters recede and the headlines change, LDR stays to provide ongoing assistance to those in need. Our Noisy Offering will be designated for Hurricane Response, and the funds will be used 100% for that purpose. Thank you for your generosity!
BEGINS SUNDAY !
We hope you'll join us on Sunday mornings between worship services, from 9:40 to 10:40, to learn and grow in faith.
This year, we have 7 classes: Click to read descriptions!

Each class can be joined at any time, and if you miss a Sunday, you can jump right back in!

ATTENTION YOUNG YOUTH AND YOUTH!
An invitation from our Musician-in-Residence, Irem !
Hello all!

I am extremely excited for both the Young Youth and Youth choirs  to get started this upcoming Sunday! I have always wanted to be a part of a youth choir growing up, but never got the chance. You can imagine how ready I am to direct one now, as I've seen how they always have so much to offer for the singers, congregation, and even myself! I have some great ideas I want to try out with the you for the season. If you'd like to join, rehearsals are as follows:
Young Youth : Sundays at from 4-4:30

Ever wanted to be an acolyte or crucifer but weren't sure what to do? Well, here's your chance to learn! Calling all those interested ( especially if you are in the 6th grade and haven't had the training yet ) or anyone who would like a refresher - Pastor Gregg is holding not one, but TWO training opportunities. Join him THIS SUNDAY at 8am or 12:15pm to learn how to serve Nativity in this way. Training will last about 15-20 minutes.
Wednesday Morning Bible Study
is off to a great start!
Led by either Pastor Gregg or
Pastor Rachel , this group takes a look at the Scripture for the coming Sunday, dives into the meat of the text and explores what it has to say in its context as well as how it is speaking to us today. Join us on Wednesdays at 10AM for Wednesday Morning Bible Study.

We have more than enough toothbrushes, but need at least two bars of soap for each kit along with a comb and nail clippers all to be wrapped in a light weight, dark colored bath towel. Please have all donations in the basket under the women's bulletin board located in the hallway to your right as you exit the worship area by October 21st. Monetary donations may be made out to Nativity Lutheran Church, marked for LWR Kits, and placed in a pew envelope during the offering.

CALVARY EPISCOPAL CHURCH FOOD PANTRY is in need of volunteers to help with pick-ups of eggs from Save-Mor on Friday mornings. Volunteers would need to be at the church ideally before 9:00am for unpacking and refrigerator storage. This has been an every week commitment but could be shared by two volunteers willing to coordinate. There is a need for produce and bread pick-ups at Manna on Friday afternoons at 1:00. This is a rotating position and is a commitment of once, on some occasions twice, a month. Volunteers need to have a covered truck or an SUV or van. If this is something you could do, please contact either Marilyn Bradt 828-779-8554 or Barbara Smith 828-684-6091. Thank You for your prayerful consideration of these requests.
