SAE Symposium Explores New Educational Initiatives for Haredi, Arabs & Gender Equity
Experts on education, religion and social issues participated in the day-long Education 3.0 - Innovation and Challenges in Israeli Education symposium on November 5, 2019 at the UJA-Federation of New York.

Speakers from both Israeli and the U.S. focused on initiatives to make positive changes in secondary education in the Haredi and Arab communities and in efforts to advance gender equity in all academic settings.

Sponsored by the Society for Advancement of Education, Jerusalem (SAE), more than 60 educators, non-profit organization leaders, foundation decision-makers and change-advocates were on hand and actively participated in question and answer sessions with the panelists.
SAE Schools Use Yitzhak Rabin Memorial Day for Learning and Enlightenment
A whole generation has passed since Yitzhak Rabin was killed on November 10, 1995. To mark the date, and to make sure young Israelis are fully aware of the circumstances and consequences of the event, many SAE high schools used the 24th anniversary of the death of Yitzhak Rabin as a day of remembrance, reflection, learning and discussion.

Steinberg Grad Heads New Hospital Children's Wing
Congratulations to Harel Yosef, a seventh grader at Re'ut School, who won a bronze medal at the International Israel Championship in Taekwondo in Ramla.
Prof. Ilan Dalal, a graduate of SAE’s Steinberg Residential Campus, was recently appointed Director of the Division of Children at Wolfson Medical Center, a key leadership role in Wolfson’s new Children’s Wing.

American Friends of Kidum (AFK ) is dedicated to increasing awareness and financial support for
the educational initiatives of the Society for Advancement of Education, Jerusalem (Kidum).
SAE runs 16 highly acclaimed high schools and residences for talented students from
disadvantaged communities in Israel’s economic and geographic periphery, providing them with the
academic skills and social confidence they need to fully participate in and contribute to Israeli society.
AFK cultivates relationships and serves as a vital connection between SAE and
its friends, supporters, partners and alumni in the U.S.
