What is a Limited Submission? A limited submission solicitation (RFA, RFP, etc.) places a cap on the number of proposals that Auburn may submit to a sponsor. Auburn coordinates limited submissions by sending out a notification via this newsletter and creating competitions in the Auburn University Competition Space (also known as InfoReady).To apply to any limited submission posted below, click on the above link and search for your competition reflected on the page. Limited Submission Announcements

USAID: Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Current and Emerging Threats to Crops The CETC Innovation Lab will function as a five-year Leader with Associates (LWA) Cooperative Agreement, awarded to an eligible U.S. university to develop a global portfolio of evidence-based research for development and local capacity development activities to protect crops from biotic threats. The CETC Innovation Lab will design, lead, and implement an applied research program focused on the control of current and emerging biotic threats to food security crops that the poor depend on. The program will also strengthen local research partners through capacity development while benefiting smallholder farmers and other beneficiaries of USAID assistance. The Innovation Lab will serve as a resource to USAID Missions and their implementing partners in their efforts to overcome critical crop pest, weed and disease constraints facing their national food systems. The Innovation Lab is broadly expected to help recognize, build on and influence impact pathways from crop biotic threat protection research to development outcomes through partnerships with USAID Mission-supported programs, national partners, private companies, community-based organizations, and other donors and their programs. Online Professional English Network (OPEN) Program The Office of English Language Programs of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA/A/L) announces an open competition for the FY 2021 Online Professional English Network (OPEN) Program, which offers foreign English teaching professionals and language learners the opportunity for professional development through high-quality virtual programming, including online university-level Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) methodology courses, online English language learning courses, Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), webinars, communities of practice, social media, virtual exchanges, and other types of engaging and innovative virtual learning. In cooperation with ECA/A/L, the recipient will manage the selection, development, and delivery of appropriate online learning courses in the field of TESOL which will be offered to English language educators or learners on an easily accessible online Learning Management System (LMS). Courses, webinars, and other virtual programming may be offered globally, regionally, or to specific countries at the request of U.S. embassies. Courses and webinars will be developed by U.S. higher education institutions and/or U.S.-based TESOL professionals and will primarily include courses and content for English as a foreign language (EFL) educators to familiarize participants with U.S. student-centered teaching methods, introduce current methods and techniques in TESOL, and prepare participants to formally disseminate the newly acquired knowledge to their colleagues. Courses will also include topics for English language learners in English for Specific Purposes (ESP) topics, according to global and regional goals and priorities. All content produced for this program will be openly licensed with a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) License. Warfighter Brain Health Project Management Office: Prevention or Reduction of Risk/Severity to Traumatic Brain Injuries The primary capability gap and areas of interest for this RFI is related to wearable Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) prevention medical devices that aid in preventing brain injuries that include, but are not limited to: Technologies that can be safely worn by U.S. Service members for extended periods and will prevent and/or lessen the risk/severity of TBI’s when a Service Member is exposed to a potential concussive event(s) (ex: Blast, blunt, accelerative injury). The ideal medical device technology should be easily applied by front line users (eg: Infantry), safe, and not inhibit range of motion, impact health experienced on the battlefield, exacerbate injuries (ex: penetrating head injuries,) or compromise mission essential tasks. NEH: Digital Projects for the Public This NEH program supports projects that interpret and analyze humanities content in primarily digital platforms and formats, such as websites, mobile applications and tours, interactive touch screens and kiosks, games, and virtual environments. All projects should demonstrate the potential to attract a broad, general, non-specialist audience, either online or in person at venues such as museums, libraries, or other cultural institutions. William T. Grant Foundation: Research Grants on Reducing Inequality The Foundation's mission is to support research to improve the lives of young people ages 5-25 in the United States. They seek studies that aim to build, test, or increase understanding of programs, policies, or practices to reduce inequality in the academic, social, behavioral, or economic outcomes of young people. They prioritize studies about reducing inequality on the basis of race, ethnicity, economic standing, language, minority status, or immigrant status. Letters of Inquiry Due: May 5, 2021 3:00 ET

NSF: Convergence Accelerator Phases I & II for the 2021 Cohort The NSF Convergence Accelerator program addresses national-scale societal challenges through use-inspired convergence research. Using a convergence approach and innovation processes like human-centered design, user discovery, and team science and integration of multidisciplinary research, the Convergence Accelerator program seeks to transition basic research and discovery into practice—to solve high-impact societal challenges aligned with specific research themes (tracks): Networked Blue Economy (Track E): to interconnect the Blue Economy and accelerate convergence across ocean sectors Trust & Authenticity in Communication Systems (Track F): to develop prototype(s) of novel research platforms forming integrated collection(s) of tools, techniques, and educational materials and programs to support increased citizen trust in public information of all sorts (health, climate, news, etc.), through more effectively preventing, mitigating, and adapting to critical threats in our communication systems.
