. The Auxiliary Board of the Episcopal Center for Children (ECC) is hosting an Autumn Tea and tour of the Center to benefit the ECC. A $20 donation is requested. The Center is located at 5901 Utah Avenue, NW, Washington, DC. Please RSVP: 202-291-2125. If you are unable to attend this event, but would like to donate to the ECC, you can make your check payable to the Episcopal Center for Children and note in the memo line - "Tea Fundraiser", and give your donation to Patricia Dorn, Janice Ezeani or Irene Fletcher no later than September 16.
(The "Tea" fundraiser event is being held instead of the September Book Fair held at Politics & Prose the past three years.)
Good Shepherd Brains Can Learn French - Fall Session Begins 9/12
Join us for fun and French as we improve our proficiency and prepare for a pilgrimage to France in May!!! We now meet WEDNESDAYS from 2-3 pm in the Education Wing. All levels of French welcome & all ages. No homework or grammar exercises. Your brain acquires the language while you connect with the wonderful people around you. Good Shepherd Church

Saint Luke Food Pantry -
Please pick up the yellow card from Saint Luke that lists suggested staples. All nutritious staples are welcomed, but let's focus this week on canned chicken and tuna, pasta meals, pasta and sauce, chili, rice and beans, and peanut butter and jelly. Thank you.
Personal Toiletries for Shepherd's Table
- Some of us have items from stays in motels that we have not used - soap, shampoo, lotion, etc. - or unused personal toiletries that we purchase for such trips. Bring them in to the box at the back of church. They are gratefully used by clients of Shepherd's Table who access their shower facilities.
Good Shepherd's Golden Oldies Recipes -
Celebrating our 50th year at Shrine Mont in Orkney Springs VA, we are creating a book favorite recipes from the past. Do you have a memorable recipe from the past you would like to include? We will accept all recipes preferably home made from scratch. Photos are welcome and a short origin story. We plan to have these fun memories available by Christmas. Proceeds will be contributed to Good Shepherd Shrine Mont scholarship fund. Please send 1 recipe per household. Submissions are to be in Word format no later than WORD 2010.
