*Morning Health Checks*
Parents please check in with your child when doing their daily morning temps to see if they have any symptoms. If they are complaining of or showing any symptoms, please keep them home and report them to the school.
If you have recently had your child tested for Covid-19 and are awaiting the results (even if they have no symptoms and you are just testing them because they were quarantined) please keep them home until the results are back.
Please remember to send your child with a water bottle for the day, they can refill it at the refilling station.

Nurse's Notes
DVA students, CISD will be hosting a Hearing, Vision and Spinal Screening event at the CISD Administration Building March 31 and April 1. DVA Students will receive notification from the district with the details and how to sign up. Parents may opt out as they wish for Hearing and Vision Screening for their child. I will need an email from you stating this. Please call the clinic with any questions or concerns.
If your child is in 6th grade and is new to the district and is currently virtual they are welcome to sign up for their screenings as well.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On April 13th and 15th during PE class, the nurse will be conducting spinal screenings as mandated by Texas state law to check for curvatures of the spine. All 5th grade face to face girls and new to 6th grade girls this school year will be screened. Students will need to wear one of the following: sports bra, regular bra, bikini top, or open back one piece bathing suit. Students should also wear shorts or fitted leggings, flat shoes with hair in a ponytail for better visualization of the upper torso. You will receive an email within 2 weeks after the screening IF your student’s results are abnormal.
Exemptions: If you wish to sign an affidavit of religious exemption please contact the clinic to request the form. If your child has had a recent physical exam by their primary care health provider and a spinal screening was performed and you wish to opt out, please provide me with a signed copy of the results. If you are currently under the care of a physician for Scoliosis please let me know.
