How to Build an EPIC Culture
Maple Valley-Black Diamond Chamber is invited to join us for this fun JOINT luncheon event!
Our presentation with Ryan of Adavanza will be "How to Build An EPIC Culture!" In today’s complex and uncertain world, it’s easy to put improving culture on hold. However, it is the most critical piece of your business to get right, especially in difficult times.
Learn how to unlock the discretionary effort of your people, dramatically improving the production of your organization. At the same time, a great culture can decrease employee turnover, which is the highest overlooked expense in many businesses. The proven EPIC (Environment, Process, Improvement, Communication) framework provides practical ways to build a high performance culture.
*We will also present our Business of the Year and Spirit of Covington Awards virtually, so don't miss it!*
This is a FREE education opportunity from the Covington Chamber of Commerce.
WE WILL "SEE" YOU SOON VIA ZOOM!

On February 25, we said "so long" to Jennifer Liggett, the Covington Chamber's executive director for the last four years, and we welcomed interim executive director Dana Neuts. While Jennifer cannot be replaced - and we are grateful she'll be around as a member - Dana will continue Jennifer's great work while the board determines its next steps.
With more than a decade of nonprofit leadership experience, Dana owns Virtually Yourz, a writing, editing and marketing firm. She previously owned iLoveKent.net for 10 years. She is a member of the Covington Chamber and is excited about her new role, serving the Covington community.
"Jennifer has always inspired me with her energy, enthusiasm and passion for the Covington Chamber. I am honored to continue her work," Dana said.
Please take a minute to say "hi" via email (info@covingtonchamber.org) or phone (253-329-0999), and let Dana know how she can help your member business be successful.

Good Work Fund - February 2021
|
|
Last month, we used $125 from the Good Work Fund to buy a Legendary Doughnuts gift card for Real Kids Learning. This wonderful organization provides child care and early learning for kids in the Covington community. Despite all the challenges presented by the pandemic, Real Kids Learning stayed open, so parents could go to work, knowing their kids were well cared for. During that time, none of the center's 70 kids or 17 staff contracted COVID. AMAZING! We wanted to thank Rod Meyers and the staff at Real Kids Learning for taking such good care of our community with some sweet treats, on behalf of the Covington Chamber and the Good Work Fund.
We also want to thank our Good Work Fund sponsors for making this possible:

UW Valley Medical: Gratitude Report
and Thank A Caregiver Program
|
|
At Valley Medical Center, caring for our community like family are not just words on paper – it is the mission our caregivers commit to and uphold each and every day. The past year fighting COVID has been a true test. We’ve given our all to care for patients in need during this unprecedented time and the support our community has shown in response has been nothing short of inspiring. We have seen everything from unimaginable hardships to remarkable acts of kindness. Through all of the trials of the last many months, Valley Medical Center, its staff, its caregivers and local partners have stood together providing support, encouragement and unwavering care at every turn.
In recognition of the incredible compassion and generosity shown by our community members and the businesses that call South King County home, we felt compelled to share with you a very special Gratitude Report. In it we share a collection of inspiring stories, highlight notable statistics and convey our thanks to those who have supported Valley’s efforts to care for our community like family.
Through it all, our caregivers have tirelessly upheld our collective commitment to continue to provide critical care to all, often going above and beyond to care for those in need. We couldn’t have weathered this unprecedented time without them. In recognition of this, we are excited to share our newly launched Thank a Caregiver Program as a wonderful way to recognize the unwavering dedication of our staff members. They are true heroes.
While we are inspired by the generosity we’ve experienced, we know the need will not diminish in the coming months. We welcome the opportunity to partner with you! Support from individuals and businesses throughout our community means Valley can continue to expand and innovate the services we provide, and increase care to even more residents. Although we undoubtedly have more challenges to face, one thing is absolutely certain: we are resilient and will overcome them. Together.
