The summer grilling season is here and many are enjoying wonderful meals prepared outdoors on their backyard grill. Burgers, hot dogs and steaks are among grilling favorites. and cooking them to the correct level of doneness is critical. Publication Helps Protect Against Foodborne Illness
Whether outdoors or in the kitchen, when it comes to safe food handling and preparation at home, you're in control. Safely handling food is your best protection against food-borne illness. Another Critical Reason for Handwashing
We have heard a lot about the importance of handwashing in recent months and here is another critical reason why handwashing is so important. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), public health officials in multiple states are investigating a multistate outbreak of Salmonella infections linked to contact with backyard poultry. As of June, 465 people had been infected in 42 states, resulting in 86 hospitalizations.
