Hunger Hike 2018 - THIS Weekend
Fighting Hunger with Our Hearts & Soles
Hunger Hike is a fundraising event and also an exciting community  celebration —  THIS weekend .

Below is the schedule with the special highlights of the  Hunger Hike kick-off event listed as well.
So  — raise $$ this week, run in the  HH5K Run  THIS Saturday at 9 a.m. (Celery Bog Nature Area), and we'll see you at the big event, the Hunger Hike kick-off event,  THIS Sunday at 1 p.m. (Riehle Plaza).

1:15 p.m. - PURDUE CHEER
The Purdue Cheerleaders & Purdue Pete (pictured above) will begin the program with a few cheers & the Purdue Fight Song.

1:20 p.m. - ZUMBA WARM-UP
Miss Brooke (pictured right) &  Kasie (fitness instructor) from  Studio b Dance & Fitness (Lafayette) will bring the  Hunger Hike crowd to its feet with the annual Zumba warm-up. MORE.
1:40 p.m. - NATIONAL ANTHEM
Jay Alan  (pictured right) will kick-off  Hunger Hike  THIS  Sunday  with the singing of the US National Anthem. Jay Alan , 17-year-old Harrison High School senior, lives in Lafayette with his parents. Check out his music on YouTube, click here. MORE.

1:45 p.m. - HONORARY CO-CHAIRS
Hunger Hike Honorary Co-chairs, Coaches Versyp & Kucik, will offer remarks. They are perfect ambassadors for Hunger Hike. Both have a high standard for their own work, hold their teams to a high standard and have a serious commitment to serving their community  — especially in supporting food assistance and nutrition programs. 1:55 p.m. - KEYNOTE
Race Johnson (pictured right) , Purdue alumnus & former Boilermaker football player, will offer remarks to kick off this year’s  Hunger Hike THIS Sunday, September 16  at  1:30 p.m.  at Riehle Plaza (N 2nd Street, Lafayette). Throughout his life, Race has worked hard and has had a special commitment to serving his community as an individual, as an athlete and with his family and church  —  and he's eager to share his story  THIS Sunday . 2:00 p.m. - HUNGER HIKE 3K WALK - raise $50+, get a Hunger Hike T-shirt

2:30 p.m. - HOT DOG PICNIC

Rent-A-Rower for Your Yard Work & Projects
One Purdue Rower - 5 Hours of Work - Only $75
Rent-A-Rower is a unique service provided by  Purdue Crew that allows YOU (members of the community) to hire rowing athletes to help out with housework, yard work and other tasks - and all proceeds benefit Purdue Crew & rowing.

  • $75 for up to 5 hours of work (donation is tax deductible)
  • 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
  • Saturdays — September 29, October 27 & November 10; and Sundays — October 21 & November 18 (scheduled make up day)

If you would like to participate in the Purdue Crew’s Rent-A-Rower program — and hire a rower to help out with work around your house, please fill out this  FORM.
