Those who work, live and study in Richmond have a positive view of 911 services in the city, according to results from the citizen survey. A total of 968 valid surveys were completed, July 30-Sept. 7, 2019. Of these, more than 60% ranked the overall performance of the department as good or excellent.

Starting as an emergency communications officer in 2004, April describes herself as the "youngest oldest" employee at the DEC. She volunteers at an adult day care and at the schools of her three children. Congratulations to April!
