Spring Break Message
Spring Break for the Baldwin County School District will take place April 5th to April 9th. We can all feel the excitement building as we prepare for a weeklong break from school, but it is important to reflect on how far we have come during this trying and unpredictable school year. Around this time last year, we were all learning to be flexible and adjust to an online teaching and learning environment due to the abrupt closing of all school buildings brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. We all came together to continue providing a safe learning environment for our greatest assets-- our students. Thank you for the dedication and hard work you have put into this partnership to ensure that our students continue to receive a quality education during this global pandemic.

Despite ongoing positive COVID-19 cases in the greater community, our school district continues to see very low transmission rates within our schools as a result of our students and staff following our safety protocols. As you make plans to take part in spring break activities, please continue to protect those around you by wearing a mask, washing your hands frequently, staying six feet apart, and maintaining a small social bubble.

The school district will be closed for Spring Break and students are set to return to school on Monday, April 12th. The Baldwin County School District wishes everyone a safe and restful Spring Break!
Baldwin Theatre's Performance of Steel Magnolias a Big Success
The Baldwin High School Theatre Department presented Steel Magnolias by Robert Harling the weekend of March 19th-21st and it turned out to be a profound performance. Steel Magnolias is based on Harling's experience with his sister's death. The play is a comedy-drama about the bond among a group of Southern women in northwest Louisiana. The title suggests the "female characters are as delicate as magnolias but as tough as steel." The Baldwin Theatre cast did an outstanding job in portraying these iconic characters from Harling's play.
2021 Region 4A Coaches of the Year
Join us in congratulating Coach Kizzi Walker, Bravettes Basketball Coach, and Coach Anthony Webb, Baldwin Braves Basketball Coach, for being named Region 4A Coach of the Year!
Coach Kizzi Walker
Coach Walker and her coaching staff led our Baldwin Bravettes through a perfect season, which led them to winning the Region 4A Championship title. We commend Coach Walker and her coaching staff for their outstanding leadership.

Coach Walker is a former Baldwin Bravette who has also played basketball at the collegiate level at Georgia Southwestern State University. During her basketball playing career she was invited to tryout for the WNBA's Portland Fire and received numerous offers to play in Europe, but she turned them down to pursue her career in teaching and coaching. She is currently a teacher at Midway Hills Academy.

We are extremely proud of Coach Walker's achievement in being named the Region 4A Coach of the Year, and we know she will continue to be the model of excellence for our students and basketball players. Congratulations Coach Walker on a job well done!
Coach Anthony Webb
Coach Webb and his coaching staff not only led our Varsity Boys Basketball team to a Region 4A Championship, but he also guided the team to a momentous victory, securing the Georgia High School Association State Championship in Basketball--a title that has not been held in Baldwin since 1981.

Coach Webb became the Varsity Boys Basketball Coach in 2019. Basketball has always been a part of his life. He grew up in Sparta where he played basketball at Hancock Central High School before going on to play in college at Albany State University. After serving as head coach at the university for one season, he returned to Hancock Central High School for two seasons before being named Head Coach. During his tenure at Hancock Central, he helped the team secure a Class A State Championship in 2008.

We are so proud of the leadership Coach Webb has provided for our student-athletes. His driving force helped motivate our Baldwin High School Varsity Basketball Team into an amazing history-making victory! Congratulations Coach Webb on being named the Region 4A Coach of the Year!
